Very clean, cosy accommodation on a wet wintry day. We were welcomed , and found the lodge was warm. and we were immediately drawn to the lovely kitchenette which had all the tools we could imagine, a microwave, kettle and a hob, plus a fridge stocked with fresh milk fruit juice butter and jams, as well as a large loaf, an excellent variety of breakfast cereals, and the usual coffee and tea bags.
An added attraction in the downstairs area was a cloakroom, plus a bed suitable for a third guest.
The upstairs bedroom had its own TV
The twin beds were extremely comfortable and the ensuite with bath had a hairdrier and lovely toiletries. Piping hot water at all times
The Lodge is in easy reach of town and the busy theatre and is in a quiet location.
Cars are parked outside the front door.

Fantastic value for money!
We booked a three night stay from 30th July for 7 at the Gremlin Lodges for our annual walking weekend. Each lodge accommodates up to four, but with the Covid rules in place, Mary (the gaffer) arranged for a twin room above the pub to accommodate our group.
With the restaurant closed until the 3rd of August, we were given cooked bacon and sausages to go with rolls so that we could have a hot breakfast in the morning. This was in addition to bread and cereal with all the condiments and milk and orange to boot, and at no additional cost.
Mary and Gareth went out of their way to makes us feel welcome and ensuring we were comfortable.
The accommodation is located in Brecon putting us within easy reach of all of the walks we planned to do, and with the selection of shops and takeaways within the town we did not want for anything. Aldi is right next to the accommodation, if you need to do a BIG shop.
The digs were cleaned daily with no shortage of towels and wash kit.
Social distancing was practiced to perfection.
This is my second time of staying here, and I will definitely be returning, hopefully later this year.
Thank you to our fantastic hosts and your friendly staff, Brian U.

I had planned to stay in a cottage for my holiday in Wales but, as I was booking just as Covid restrictions were loosened, everywhere seemed to be booked up for all or part of the 10 days I wanted to stay. Made worse by the fact that I was a solo traveller.

So I reluctantly looked for a hotel and found the Gremlin Lodges. Thought it sounded ideal, as it is a row of self-contained cottages behind the Gremlin Hotel pub. Also in a convenient location, just a short walk from the centre of Brecon. I made the right decision.

When I arrived, I was met by Gareth who was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was comfortable and spotlessly clean. I really appreciated the cereals, bread, jams, orange juice and milk provided for breakfast. Cottage was really well-equipped - they had thought of just about everything. Information pack was also useful.

No problems or complaints at all during my stay.

I really enjoyed the holiday and would stay here again if I am in the area.

We have just returned after 3 nights in the lodge (number 2 lodge). It was ok but definitely needs some TLC. I didn't see much evidence of deep cleaning due to Covid, the living room was quite dusty, settee has seen better days and should be replaced as it is very uncomfortable. The downstairs loo seat was very loose and the radiator old and rusty.
The upstairs bathroom had a very old, tired bath with a discoloured, water damaged bath panel and black mouldy sealant around the bath. You could see someone had tried to clean it as it wasn't dirty just needs the seal replaced. The toilet seat fell off when we opened the loo and the toothbrush holder and back of the door were splattered with the remnants of toothpaste! It just needs deep cleaning and maintenance. I did actually buy cleaning products from Aldi nearby and Gareth the owner did knock a bit of money off the overall price of the stay.
The location was fantastic, very central to everything with a nice seating area out the front. The lodges are at the back of a very traditional pub - same owners. One thing I feel I must add is that we could hear a lot of shouting and swearing from locals using the beer garden next to the lodges, this was quite bad and went on until gone 10.30pm.
Overall, the lodges are not bad, in a fantastic location but in need of maintenance/cleaning and TLC.

We had a great stay. It's basically a b&b with a difference. You can get up in the morning at a time that suits you and have cereal and toast with everything provided for you along with tea coffee sugar and orange juice. We stayed in lodge 3 which has a hob so breakfast could be bought in Aldi almost next door if a cooked breakfast is wanted. Lodge 3 has twin beds but plenty of room upstairs for a travel cot or a put up bed as well as a bed settee downstairs. We took part in a quiz night at the pub, great staff, friendly locals. The local area is great easy access to the tow path for walking, very near the town and bus station. We had a lovely bus journey to abergavenny so much easier than driving as you can see more. I would definitely recommend and I can't wait to go back. We booked for 3 nights and I didn't want to leave.

Just back from a last minute 2 day stay at the Gremlin Lodge. Excellent accommodation with free parking outside. Toiletries, bread, milk, tea, coffee and various breakfast items included in the price by Gareth, the host. Most welcome. Perfect location for exploring the lovely town of Brecon and the nearby canal. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.

Thank you Gareth for making us welcome.

We booked in here for a weekend break. They have fabulous little cottages which have everything you’d need and more. Stocked with all the essentials for a continental breakfast, this is great value for money. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Brecon.

We stayed for 3 nights at Gremlin Lodge - most enjoyable and relaxing stay. Met by Gareth on arrival, most helpful and friendly. The lodge was immaculately clean, warm and with milk, bread, juice and other breakfast stuff available. Great stuff, very kind. Location spot on for walking in the nearby Beacons and also town and canal. We're already booked to return in June for birthday celebration. I would recommend the lodges without doubt. Thanks Gareth.
