This bed and breakfast is a great base for walking in the Brecons. It is on the canal so there are two easy walks up and down the towpath to visit good local pubs in the evening. Accommodation: an attractive old farmhouse with light, clean, well decorated and comfortable bedrooms plus en suite. Food: a good variety with a delicious...

I've stayed here four times over the last year. Rachel Sid and their young family always make their guests very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The modern rooms with bathrooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfasts excellent. I understand they also have self-catering houses/flats in the courtyard; definitely worth a look. Highly recommended.

However, since staying at Ty Newydd some years ago we have stopped 'trying out' alternative B+B's and now always stay at Ty Newydd. It has a glorious position set near the canal and the...

A beautiful farmhouse with stunning views from our room. The room was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was huge and everything locally sourced where possible. Rachel and Sid were great hosts giving us space but being on hand with lots of information. We ate at The Royal Oak in the next village about a 20 minute walk, very...
