Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for two nights from Thursday 30th June till Saturday 2nd July 2022, it was the ideal location for me to visit Pen Y Fan on the Friday morning. The double room I booked was fantastic, spotlessly clean and with a beautiful view of the hills around the area. I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room came with it's own bathroom with a spacious shower, and a large bed which was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, and there was lots of it! When I'm next in Brecon or surrounding areas I will definitely try to book at the Camden Lodge again. Absolutely perfect!

Just stayed here and can honestly say it's by far the best B&B we've ever stayed in.
It literally looks like it's come out of a show room it's that clean. The owners were just as lovely and friendly it was a shame we had to leave..
The bed was lovely and big and comfortable with plenty of pillows, and the view was superb. All the windows in the property are big with great views.
Fridge in the room was a bonus.
Attention to detail was above anything we've experienced anywhere and the breakfast was absolutely amazing, you name it it was available and cooked perfectly
Within walking distance of Brecon which itself is a lovely little town.
The only thing I would say is they are seriously underselling themselves... we went on to another B&B from here which charged the same and the differences were huge..
Hands down they could easily charge £50 more per room and it would be worth it.
If you are trying to decide whether to go or not, stop thinking about it and book ... I guarantee you'll love it.

This B&B is a real little gem. The hosts have thought of everything and are incredibly friendly, helpful and very approachable. The accommodation is presented to a very high standard with a noted attention to fine detail - absolutely immaculate.
You have stunning views of Pen Y Fan when you open your curtains in a morning, and if you are up for taking on the mountains then starting the day with their full cooked breakfast will absolutely set you up to take it on - their fully cooked breakfast is absolutely amazing, with a very good selection of hot or cold options also.
I would 100% recommend staying here - for us, it’s the only place to stay in Brecon now we have been.
We will definitely be returning.
You will have definitely missed out if you don’t stay here.

I would highly recommend Camden lodge.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean.
Huge bed and very well appointed ensuite shower room with toiletries.
Everything is supplied in the room to make tea and coffee with fresh milk.
The breakfast was superb, buffet and hot food. All very tasty and well presented.
There is a lounge not mentioned in the website.
The staff were extremely friendly and polite.
The position of Camden lodge is 2 minutes walk from the town centre.
Ample free parking.
We will stay here again on our return to Breacon.

We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights as our base for visiting the Brecon Beacons and we received a warm, friendly welcome and enjoyed a perfect stay. In fact there is so much to see in the area that we wished we stayed longer.
Our bedrooms were immaculate and very spacious with king size beds and tub chairs/little sofas.
All 5 bedrooms at Camden Lodge are on the first floor and face south with big windows looking across Brecon towards Pen Y Fan. Even in early September the patio tubs were full of colourful big flowers.
We had Room 1 which has the big balcony, and also Room 5 which has both a bath and shower. ( All the other rooms have showers). The B&B is conveniently very close to Brecon town centre so it is easily walkable to restaurants etc. The breakfasts were amazing too.
While we stayed in Brecon we walked up Pen Y Fan ( park and go up from the NT car park, rather than the Storey Arms car park just down the road, as we did the the Storey Arms side going up which has a path with an unexpected big dip down and then a climb back up again!) . Took us about 2 hours to get to the top of Pen Y Fan and Corn Du, and approx an hour back down. Also the excellent National Botanic Garden of Wales and Bird of Prey Centre is just over an hour away from Brecon, where we also got the chance to do the 30 minute owl flying experience as part of a small group (brilliant) .
Lots of good places in the area for eating out. Recommend the Felin Fach Griffin and Foyles of Glasbury which are on the way towards Hay On Wye.
In Brecon we really enjoyed Hop In Beer and Gin, which is tiny and only has a few tables so you need to book in advance even for a rainy Monday evening as it is very popular for the great choice of beers and gins and excellent food.

We stayed at Camden Lodge for three nights. We were given a lovely welcome by Elaine. From the outside of the house and as soon as you walked through the door, you could see it was spotless. We had a room with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom/shower. Again, everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable..The view over the town towards Pen Y Fan was stunning. Lynn cooked a superb breakfast, one of the best. If you want to stay in Brecon, don’t look any further than Camden Lodge. You will not be disappointed. Elaine and Lynn can be proud to run a b&b of this quality. A big thank you, from Phil and Sue, Bradford on Avon.

Cannot recommend this b & b highly enough. We have stayed in many excellent b & b’s but this is by far the best. The hosts are lovely and welcoming and the bedrooms magnificent, spacious with every need catered for and the most amazing view as has the dining room. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the large shower cubicle with powerful shower was great and a separate bath was a bonus. A small fridge with bottled water and fresh milk was another lovely touch. The breakfast was delicious, beautifully cooked and presented with plenty of choice. The attention to every detail is amazing and the house and gardens immaculate. I unreservedly recommend Camden Lodge.

This is an amazing bed and breakfast! It's not #1 on the Trip Advisor list yet but give it time. It felt like we paid budget prices for a luxury hotel. Everything was clean and in great condition - the place felt new. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfasts are wonderful! The portions are very generous. In fact, the breakfasts kept us full for so long that we didn't need to eat lunch even on the days we were hiking. You can order a smaller plate but the food is so good that you won't want to. The location is also great. It's a quick and easy walk into town, and the views of the mountains are beautiful. The little Welsh welcome treat was very appreciated. I highly recommend this B&B.
Tip for visiting Brecon - we booked our dinner reservations in advance based on advice from other reviewers and were glad we did. Restaurants had signs on their doors saying they were full so it might have been difficult to find a quality place to eat if we hadn't planned in advance.

On arrival we were greeted by Elaine and shown around. Elaine was very welcoming and the property was absolutely exceptional both inside and out. The room was beautiful, the view was beautiful and we could not fault anything. Toiletries, towels, refreshments were all supplied and water and Welsh Cakes were waiting for us. There was always spare coffee etc. available to help yourself to if needed. Then we move to the breakfast - Wow!!! I have never seen such a large breakfast in all of my life, it certainly set us up for the day. Not only was it large, but it was delicious too. We were hosted by Elisha at breakfast and we can only say what a lovely young lady she was. Very polite and attentive and nothing was too much bother. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a stay at Camden Lodge B&B and Cottage in Brecon. If we are ever visiting Wales again this will be top of the list for our stay. Thank you Lynn, Elaine and Elisha for such a pleasant stay.

This is a wonderful B&B in every way. The rooms are huge, the beds comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the location is perfect. Each room includes a small refrigerator and facilities for making coffee/tea/hot chocolate. The B&B is a 5 to 10-minute walk from restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Brecon is a great base of operations for exploring the area.
