Detailed Reviews
The Yurt we stayed in (Barley) was large, clean, tidy with a well fitting and lockable door. The bed was very comfortable. Two single beds also available for children if required.
The see through part of the top of the yurt was rather dirty on the outside. Detritus from the nearby trees I suspect.
There were three yurts and two cabins on site, all positioned well away from each other giving privacy. All unoccupied during the three nights we were there.
The yurts were positioned adjacent to a field of barley with trees behind them and a nearby stream. Very quiet and peaceful.
The kitchen cabin was adequate, although the doors were badly fitting. The small chest fridge was more of a freezer as everything except to wine froze. The lid didn’t fit properly and needed weighing down.
The composting toilet was adequate but took some getting use to. Fortunately, there was a normal flushing loo with hand basin at the green barn near the car parking area. We didn’t use the shower adjacent to the yurt as there was a bigger one with hand basin and space to move around at the barn. Bit of a walk though, but that was our choice.
The paths leading to the yurts/cabins passed around and under trees. Clearly in recent high winds, twigs and small branches had fallen onto and around the paths. They really should have been cleared away prior to our arrival as they’re been there several days. Some of the trees and shrubs around the yurts needed cutting back as they were a bit overgrown in places. The grounds really did need some TLC, bearing in mind the school holidays commenced at the end of the week.
Contactless checking in and out went well and all communication carried out by email.
The local pub was closed during the duration of our stay. However, The Harp in Glaspury, and The Bridge End in Talgarth were excellent and dog friendly.
Overall a very pleasant stay.

We booked to stay at Wye Glamping as we had previously stayed in one of their pop up tents at a private wedding and were really impressed with the attention to detail there. We were not disappointed here! They have thought of everything! We weren’t sure what to expect because of the current situation but on arrival we were immediately put at ease and felt reassured to see the self-contained facilities. Each pitch has an individual toilet, shower and kitchen so there was no need to mix with the other families/couples staying on the site. We actually went with some friends who stayed in the neighbouring tent which was brilliant. We were able to catch up and spend time together but still have our own space and maintain social distancing.
The facilities were great (& immaculate!) We just took our clothes and food and a travel cot and everything else was provided. Even washing up liquid etc which a lot of places don’t do. I think we could have actually asked for a travel cot but our daughter is so tricksy at sleeping we decided to take our own which she’s familiar with. As well as the info sent out in advance, there’s a list on the website of everything provided which helped with packing.
We stayed in Bell tent 2 which has the river running behind it (giving a relaxing soundscape in the background) and amazing views of the fields and the hills. Good for star gazing in the evenings! The weather was lovely during our stay but a bit chilly at night. That didn’t matter though as we lit the log burner in the tent every night which made it really cosy and lit the fire pit outside in the evening. The tent was really comfortable and we all slept really well each night. Having breakfast on the decking each morning was a delight! So peaceful.
Good to know:
* You can’t take your car to the tent to unload but the carpark is a short walk (2/3mins) and there are plenty of large trolleys to pile your stuff into to take back and forth.
*Great 4G signal. A couple of times we streamed some nursery rhymes on our phones to calm our over excited toddler down and had no issues.
*River/Stream area, great for kids to have a splash about
*Lots of great places to grab food locally if needed. Diane (owner) recommended
a fab thai takeaway which we had one night.
*The tents/cabin/yurt are all spaced far enough apart that you’re not over looked by anyone and really don’t have to be sociable unless you want to!

We booked the three yurts (Maize, Wheat, Barley) with two other families for four nights and had such a fab time! The yurts are beautifully furnished, very comfy beds, separate kitchen area in a little hut with everything you need plus each yurt has its own shower and separate loo! Then deckchairs, fire pit bbq, picnic bench and even solar phone chargers in each hut which kept the six teenagers happy! Great canoe hire just down the road, we found three brilliant wild swimming places and managed to keep cool during the 4 day heat wave. We ate out at Felin Facth, the three horseshoes and then in Brecon one night. Plus a BBQ on the first night. Sainsbury’s delivers to the site (not Ocado or Waitrose though). We’ve just re-booked for July 20222! Thanks very much for great accommodation and a brilliant time :).

I just want to say a huge thank you to Diane for making our first trip out after lockdown so easy. We were a little nervous to be honest but there was no need to be; she really has thought of everything. The whole site was spotlessly clean, there are now individual showers for each plot, hand sanitiser everyywhere and the kitchen has everything you could want. We stayed in bell tent 3 with our two children and it was exactly the change of scene we needed. The beds are really comfy, the log burner makes it really cosy in the evening and there is plenty of space - the kids loved playing in the stream. We didn't venture far but cooked in the kitchen and on the fire pit and had a very tasty thai take away - a great recommendation.
We would whole heartedly recommend coming to stay here and we will definitely be back.

Our first post-lockdown trip was well worth it. Diane has thought of everything and the place was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We stayed in the cabin with its well equipped kitchen, compost loo, and own shower (each unit has these). The log burner also kept off the chill through the night.
The site is really well located and safe for the children to explore. Much needed for them after being stuck at home for so long and so exciting for them that we didn't go far from the site at all.
Diane was available for any queries and recommended a local takeaway which was delicious.
A great stay, we will be back! 😁

My partner and I (and our dog) had the most wonderful weekend glamping at Wye Glamping! The site itself is beautiful.... nestled away in the fields, surrounded by trees with a beautiful view of the mountains and a peaceful river running close by - it is an absolute dream, especially if you love the outdoors like we do! We stayed in a bell tent and we were blown away by how brilliant it was! The double bed was super comfy and the log burner kept us nice and toasty! The lanterns and fairy lights add such a special, magical feel and makes a wonderful atmosphere. The kitchen shed was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need (cooker/fridge/saucepans/utensils/washing up liquid etc) and there was even a box of goodies and tea / coffee / tea lights / matches which was a lovely touch! We also made good use of the campfire provided each night and it really made for a special evening. The campsite is also so peaceful and the view of the stars at night is truly spectacular. We can truly say that Wye Glamping is the best campsite we’ve ever visited, and really is a hidden special gem.
There are so many different things to do nearby! We explored the town of Hay on Wye, walked up to Hay Bluff, drove through the Black Mountains and did the four falls trail in the Brecon Beacons. The campsite is so lovely you could just spend all day there too! My partner and I decided to build a dam in the river one afternoon.... and we absolutely loved it!
The owners are also super super friendly and helpful! We were enjoying our stay so much we requested to stay an extra night and Dianne responded straight away to say that we could which was the best news! Our car unfortunately broke down on our last night, and Al was so brilliant and came to help us out right away and got our car going again (in the dark on a Sunday evening - thanks Al we are so grateful!!) best campsite owners we’ve ever met!
Wye Glamping is simply the best! Getting back to nature and simplicity means spending quality time with loved ones and really enjoying yourself in the moment. The campsite has such a magical feel to it, and we loved every second of our stay - we will definitely be coming back next year!
Thank you for such an amazing stay :)

We found Wye Glamping whilst browsing online for week away with friends. Diane, who is lovely, helped with any queries on booking and we were so impressed with the changes and additions made to make each pitch self contained. The tents are simply stunning- almost as beautiful as the view! The beds are so comfortable and there are so many little lovely touches around that show the owners have gone above and beyond. We all really enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful setting as well as the excuse to not do anything! We had such a great time, and the children especially loved our stream adventures. All just perfect. A big thank you to you both.

We visited Wye Glamping in July right after the lockdown restrictions were eased. The tents were immaculate and everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday was provided. Diane and her team have truly created a peaceful safe haven in tumultuous times. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely break away in a fantastic location and a no fuss heart warming accommodation.
Everything needed was on site to cook or bbq and comfy beds, no mains power or internet (usb charge point and solar lights) giving an escape from the rat race feeling, all together helped make some priceless family memories.
We will be back…

After having to move our booking during the last 18 months we were very much looking forward to our stayand it didn't disappoint! We stayed in Maize and what a beautiful yurt with a gorgeous view. Everything you need is provided. We loved sitting in front of the fire pit chatting. We visited Hay on Wye and Talgarth Mill is definitely worth a visit. We will be back!

Hi, there are washing up bowls and water containers which are full when you arrive, in the kitchens, as well as washing up liquid etc and there is hand sanitizer in the compost loos. There is running hot water in the 'normal' toilet in the shower block.
Hi Stephanie, we have a lovely country pub opposite our campsite, serving home cooked food. Check out The Three Horshoes, Felindre on trip advisor. 5 star rating.
Unfortunately we are fully booked this weekend but alternative availability can be found on our website
I hope we can welcome you soon!
Hi there, thanks for your interest. Our campsite is run 'off grid' which means we don't have any mains power on site I'm afraid. We provide hot showers and cooking via gas and lighting via solar, but I'm afraid not there isn't enough power for a hairdryer. Why not embrace your natural style for a few days and leave the hairdryer at home...
I don't think you can lock it but you are totally safe there I wouldn't worry it's very remote... and yes the pub is very dog friendly!!!
Hi Alexander, we open our doors for the 2017 season on 30 March. Our stays tend to be based on a 3 night weekend or 4 night midweek break. We do consider shorter breaks on a case by case basis.
