Always a comfy bed and a great breakfast. Lovely and warm with extra pillows. The reception lady Leanne was so helpful and the Bev in the breakfast room was also really friendly. Breakfast freshly cooked and loads of choice. Everything in the hotel was spotlessly clean

A relatively quiet (or at least it was for us on Thursday and Friday nights in July). Very nice staff, very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are freshly prepared in a small dinning room in the Premier Inn itself. They are the usual Premier Inn fare, but very well done. There is no attached Whitbread pub, so inclusive meal deals are not possible. The pub next door is a Toby Inn (with no affiliation). Great if you like a carvery, less good if that is not what you are looking for. All other options to eat in the evening are a car journey away given the location and lack of walkable paths. The car park is ok, busy in the early evening.

Amazing staff. I forgot to check in and rang up at 22.30PM. The evening reception answered my queries, reassured me my room was ok and even went to check it had a bath.
On arriving at 0.30AM, the hotel was quiet, clean and the same receptionist was calm, cheerful and welcoming.
Breakfast for GF is improving with thick GF bread, DF milk (but still no soya yoghurts) loads of fruit so was full up! Also lovely condiments. Staff again was amazingly friendly and helpful.
Slept like a log, bath was also deep, so was fully immersed and much needed from the U.K. damp weather. Buy the extra wifi as free wifi is weak.
I’m not sure if this review should be about Premier Inn or just the wonderful Welsh folk I’ve met so far. Now for a trip to the magnificent Caerphilly Castle and an afternoon Welsh cake.

As my husband and I both struggle with getting a good night's sleep, I booked a twin room with 2 single beds for one night (paying extra in the process), NOT a twin with a large bed and a sofa bed: the sofa beds are hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. On arrival at the hotel, we were told that there was a 'room amendment supplement' to pay which made no sense as we hadn't amended the room. Eventually it transpired that we had been 'moved to room 3' by a member of staff and charged for the privilege. That was cancelled after a lengthy phone call. The room we were allocated was NOT what I had booked - it was a large double and sofa bed for the 'twin'. I spoke with the receptionist who did his best to help but there were no twins with 2 single beds available. He managed to produce a couple of duvets to put on the sofa bed to make it a little more comfortable, but it definitely wasn't a 'great night's sleep' as Premier Inn promises. Once home, I contacted Guest Relations to request a refund, but I am told that, under the terms and conditions, I am not entitled to a refund because when I booked a twin with 2 single beds I only 'requested' the room, i.e. this isn't a definite booking, and the room I 'requested' wasn't available on the day of our arrival. I haven't even had a refund of the extra paid for the twin with two beds as opposed to the sofa bed room. In the response from Premier Inn the comment was made that my query would be passed on to the hotel to 'ensure staff are made aware of the correct process when requests are made' - basically an admission that someone, somewhere, didn't follow procedure. As there is a limited number of twins with 2 beds, surely the booking system should prevent further bookings of such rooms once they are all 'requested'. Despite guest relations 'looking forward to seeing you again', I shall make every effort to not use Premier Inn again in the future, as I clearly can't guarantee that I'll get what I booked and paid for.

It's a Premier Inn, so nothing to get excited about but you know what you are getting. The rooms are clean and a fairly decent size.
There is no air-con, but the windows do open for fresh air. The downside is it's right on a fairly main road. This wasn't an issue for us as we were there on a Sunday night so any traffic was very light, but it was quite noticeable on the Monday morning.
Also, no USB charging points, so you need to bring a plug-in charger.
The dining room is small, only 8 tables, so there is no dinner option. There's a Toby carvery right next door but on the Sunday we were there it was rammed (not that it was our first choice anyway, but there are no other immediate options without a trip, albeit short, in to town. Even then, on a Sunday, choices are limited).
Small dining room also means you have to book for breakfast and have a set time, not that this was an issue but worth noting.
Plentiful onsite parking that some ground floor rooms will have windows straight on to the car park.
Other than that it's a standard Premier Inn. The one thing I will say for all the Premier Inns I have experienced is that the staff are polite, welcoming and kindly, albeit in their various local ways! This was no exception.

We stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas whilst visiting family in the area. It was excellent value for money.
Our room was spacious and clean and beds were comfy. It was also very quiet. Yes - there were a few little scuffs here and there, but for the price, it didn't matter. Clean and comfy is the main thing.
The staff were great - especially the night manager, the lady at breakfast and the chef. They were all extremely welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast was good - a lovely cooked breakfast (chef happy to make all variations of eggs fresh), plus cereals, pastries, fruit, etc. It does get busy, so I would advise booking a tineslot to ensure you have a table. We made a mistake on the last day, as I thought I had read on the Internet that breakfast was until 10:30. We arrived for breakfast just after 10:00, so we couldn't have cooked breakfast, but the chef was so helpful and went out of his way to give us extra continental breakfast. He was so kind and is a huge credit to the hotel.
There is plenty of free parking - and there's a Toby Carvery next door (which we didn't use this time, but very convenient).
I would definitely recommend staying here if you need a base in the Caerphilly area.

We chose to stay at Caerphilly as it was cheaper than main Cardiff and parking is free. There’s a train station in the main town, but train strike was on, so we chose to drive into Cardiff after all. You can walk to the main shops, castle etc in Caerphilly easily from the hotel, it’s not as far as it seems on the map, about a 15 min walk, was more uphill on return, but really not too bad at all. The outside of the hotel looked like it could do with a bit of a tidy up - cracked render etc., but it was clean and tidy outside and in. Room was spotless, reception welcoming and we got a room upstairs. Once windows are shut, the noise from the road is barely audible but that’s the issue- you can’t shut the window because the rooms are so incredibly hot with no way of cooling down- the thermostat is just for heating, not cooling. So we slept in 27 degrees c the first night, on top of the covers with the window open. The road is incredibly noisy, constant over noisy bikes and cars, followed by sirens and blue lights. We always bring earplugs so it wasn’t too much of an issue at sleeping time. I read reviews on TA saying about fans being available, this wasn’t mentioned to us at all and may have helped with the heat. Rooms should come with them as standard in the summer if they can’t control the temperatures with air con. There’s a Toby carvery next door, but we didn’t eat here on this occasion.

What a amazing clean place, Daz the cheif makes the best breakfast, as a vegetarian that can't eat fat I was amazed when he cooked the food fresh to order and my meat eating families food came out together. Deb the server was also very attentive what brilliant staff that keep the buying clean, organised and definitely are a credit to your company, even the receptionist was lovely. Best breakfast I've had!

This hotel is of a poor quality (unlike many good Premier Inns). There is no lift (although a staff member did help me with my bags). The hotel looks tired and has clearly lacked investment. The rooms were stuffy and you cannot open the windows beyond a 'safe' 5cm - even when there is no air-conditioning. I knew there was no air conditioning when booking, but clearly Premier Inn do not want customers to have access to fresh air to ventilate their rooms. Breakfast was poor and everything is microwaved. I would not recommend or stay there again.

We had a warm welcome with an explanation of rooms and services. The room was a good size, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, bright white bedding, a very comfortable large bed, fluffy white towels and plenty of plugs for gadgets. The breakfast was well organised, very tasty, with plenty of choice. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Thank you Corbetts Lane for a great stay.

Good morning. We are located approximately 2 miles from Caerphilly train station, it is possible to walk (takes about 35-40 mins) or alternatively, we can arrange a taxi for you from the hotel.
There is a closer station at Energlyn which is only 0.8 miles away, however not all trains stop at this station.
I hope this helps you!
Kind Regards
