If staying in Cardiff city centre, near to the castle and stadium, couldn't be in a better location. Staff friendly and all spotlessly clean. Car park NCP 50yds have a deal with the hotel at £14 for 24 hours.

Stayed here overnight on business. Pretty good all round, one or two things could do with modest refurbishing, but comfortable and easy-going overall. Windows in rooms are a bit pokey, but now I'm picking. Best thing without doubt is fantastic city centre location with all amenities within 5 minutes walk.

We booked at the Royal and stayed one night Mon-Tue. Car parking was at a nearby public multi-story car park (Westgate). It's extremely tight manoeuvring a vehicle in there just getting up the levels. One of the tightest I've ever been in. It's a short walk from there to the hotel. They do say there is a drop off point...

We stayed here for two nights, spending the first night in the Cinema Room and the second in one of the Deluxe Rooms. The staff were great and even let us check in early on our second day so we wouldn't have to wait for our second room to be available. The Cinema Room was great! We had read a...

This was my 4th stay at the Royal, however my previous visits to Cardiff have been midweek and this time was a weekend stay. Never again. The room itself had a few disappointing things. The toilet seat was broken, the duvet covers had quite a few hairs and marks on them and they have replaced proper glasses in the bathroom...

The hotel is a 4 minute walk maximum from the train station which was a perfect start to the weekend as my bags were heavy. We walked into the hotel and it immediately gave a good impression with its carefully thought out decor. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and quickly got us to our room. The room itself was...

Overall experience was good, very friendly staff, clean room good breakfast. However it was very over priced, room very small, double bed was very small, it was extremely noisy, hardly slept all night to the volume of noise, very disappointed. So unfortunately wouldn't stay again.

I used the Royal as a stopover hotel along with a couple of business colleagues, sharing a 3bed room and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the comfort of the beds. The poster (in the lift?) showing a couple of young women having a pillow fight gave me a few misgivings about noise levels etc, but...

Surprised by how good this hotel was - stayed the night before a 6 Nations Rugby home game and my usual hotel had pretty much doubled the price. This hotel offered a very good value rate and a really great location, very comfortable and well appointed room,
