Sadly the Celtic Manor has been on a downward spiral for several years, so much so I'm astounded they still hold a 5 star rating. The rooms, despite being 'refurbished' are extremely dated, bland, unclean and lacking in any character at all. We booked 2 rooms as a stay and a gift (917 and 919) and the one room was...

I have stayed at the Celtic Manor on numerous occasions now - played golf on several courses including the 2010, celebrated my "special" birthday at the Manor last year and this weekend together with 18 ladies celebrated a close friend's forthcoming wedding. The hotel has everything that you would expect from a 5 star hotel but it fails to reach...

I recently visited here for a pamper day and afternoon tea. My daughter and myself first had a fantastic massage and facial and later went over to the main hotel for afternoon tea. We were met at the hotel by Ruth who I believe was the restaurant manager. She was so welcoming and a truly lovely person, who made the...

We stayed in the hunter lodges over mothers day weekend 2017, Friday to Monday. Check in time is 4pm we I feel is a bit later, however you are able to use all of the hotels facilities before you check in, so it is very easy to pass the time with such a large number of activities to chose from....

We were booked into the Celtic Manor for a group weekend and this was organised by the birthday couple. I hadn't heard much about the venue but I hard it was well known and an iconic golfing hotel and was a 5 star resort. The Positives The main reception is huge and impressive, which gives the feeling of an impressive...

Was treated at by my daughter to afternoon tea at the Manor House. For the price that she paid,£38 each and £19 for 2-5 yr olds,I thought the quality was very run of the mill, and children's food not really suitable for kids.there was not enough savoury food, and the cake collection was very sweet and sickly and then to be followed by...

We have visited the hotel many times. This time some good, but mostly poor. First up, disappointingly no free parking anymore. Considering the room rate and no other parking options this smacks of profiteering. Are the room rates not high enough to cover this( I think so)? I can understand charging visitors but not guests surely.? To compound my disappointment...

Great staff, awesome food-beef melt in the mouth - and attentive but not intrusive service at this restaurant . A subtle ambiance with stunning views and really comfy seating. Good medium priced Pinot went down a treat!! A fantastic experience ,cannot recommend highly enough!

We've stayed here a few times, the setting is great and the resort is impressive. I'm always disappointed with the food, it's just not good enough for the prices charged. We usually intend to go out to eat but never get round to it. The breakfast is good but as others have said, no different to other chain hotels.

We were bought a birthday gift of a signature room and a meal. We arrived at the hotel and went to check desks to check in. We were told we had VIP private checkin on the 6th floor. They had 6 desks open on the ground floor, when we arrived at the sixth floor we found one check in desk...
