I have so much to say about how awful this hostel was. The hostel was undergoing renovations, but they failed to mention this until we were checking in at night. There were far, far too few toilets for everyone there. Just three bathroom located very far from our room. The bunk bed I slept on was broken. Everything was messy...

This place was dificult to find, especially with all the to let signs in the sureounding buildings. I haven't been staying in hostels in awhile and forgotten how noisy they can be, from squeaky beds to noisy roommates. Stayed in a 6 people mixed dorm, didn't have enough power points, lockers were available but didn't have locks, 2 out of...

Staff are super friendly, there are communal dinners each night making it really easy to meet fellow travellers. Free cooked breakfast was fantastic! It's around the corner from great pubs and food, with the city a short walk away.

The volunteers are nice [most of them] but the hostel is simply awful!! The showers are disgusting and it is impossible to control de temperature. The room was tinny and DIRTY, just two lockers for six guests and four plugs. The curtains for most of the beds were broken and one of the bank beds didnt have a ladder!!! The...

The staff made my stay, they were so friendly, I have been back already since my last visit! They also offer free hot breakfast which is amazing! They make you feel so welcome and at home. They have some great common areas to hangout and meet people as well.

Considering its only £10 a night it's a great hostel. As a solo backpacker I found that the hostel had a great vibe, a friendly and welcoming team who genuinely care about their guests. It's a bed, with a warm shower and a free breakfast? Where else could you get that for £10 a night. Great location for st paddys....

PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS HOSTEL!!!!!!! I usually don't write reviews but here I can for sure say this was the worst hostel I have been to. DIRTY AND GROSS, they have only five showers for the whole hostel: two of them out of service and the other three were simply disgusting. Staff are nice in general but MESSY AND...

A group of us were in during February, the place was full of people attending the same event as us, bar 3 maximum (excluding employees). Upon arrival it took 20 minutes to arrange the beds for us, this is due to a few of our group having to drop out, we had given the hostel days of notice about this...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Included is a FREE English Breakfast that includes Bacon, Sausage, egg, beans and toast. Or Porridge or scrambled eggs and bacon. Please note breakfast is strictly between 8 and 10 with no exceptions. All breakfast served only with coffee or tea. Lagan Backpackers is simply a large Belfast house that has been converted into a Backpackers Hostel; and it is owned and run by a South African guy who knows what backpackers want. Our high ratings are mostly due to the great attention and recommendations that you can expect from both myself and my staff. My idea for a great hostel is very simple: to make you feel at home. To give you a comfortable bed to sleep in, to keep the noise down after eleven to ensure a peaceful sleep and to make you feel so at home that you make new friends and enjoy Belfast as much as possible. We provide advice on all tours of Northern Ireland, and will only recommend tours that we have personally experienced. We advise that our customers do not pre-book tours before visiting as we find that some tour operators overcharge and do not provide the level of customer satisfaction that we expect for our guests. In addition to this, Lagan Backpackers hostel is very friendly to single travellers, as we go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. We are located minutes from the City Centre, the Lagan River and the picturesque Queens University campus; and mere moments away from the lively Botanic Avenue where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs for our customers to enjoy. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens that boast beautiful greenhouses and the famed Tropical Ravine is a short walk away, adjacent to the Ulster Museum. ** No groups, stag parties, hen parties or drunken weekends like Paddys day!! Please remember only for the 11,12,13,14 July I do not accept booking from people from the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales..Also no American or Canadian band members). This is only for the marching season. No refunds on deposits will be given and you will be turned away on arrival. No stag or hen parties or groups without prior permission. ... more   less
