This really is a good hostel. The staff are all good, it's clean enough, the movie room is class and it's got such a fun friendly vibe you really will have a good time and meet lots of nice fun people . If you're in Belfast I really do recommend this place

1- There is a house-share feeling with this hostel and good vibes, can be mainly explained by a well-diverse team of permanent+volunteering staff. The Irish and French ones were super open and easy to connect. What's more the improvised pub visits have a personal touch. Very efficient staff, a big change in comparison to numerous standard and standardised "hostels". 2-...

Staff were great very helpful and enthusiastic however the hostel was rather tired and needed some TIC. Toilet and shower were not good and breakfast seemed a bit of a middle. The location was great buses shops restaurants all close by. Belfast was wonderful a city which must be visited.

Warm and helpful reception when I walked in and became instant friends with other travellers. A great place for a solo traveller as there are communal dinners at a low price and breakfast each day is included. Great location- on a quiet street off the main road where you will find loads of bars and restaurants. Would love to stay...

Staff were friendly but the hostel isn't run very well. When we arrived we were told to pick the beds that's were neatly made up, but none of them had been done up neatly so it was impossible to know if they were empty. As it turns out, all of the beds in that room were empty, but to be...

The beds were clean, the receptionist was very helpful. Tea/coffee facility was great in the kitchen. But kitchen was not so clean. The breakfast was average. They had a space to keep luggage in case you arrive early or check-out and have to keep the luggage and go. Also, its walkable from the city centre and there are many pubs/restaurants...

I was traveling with 4 friends and we took the 5 beds room, which was ok looking, it had curtains to separate the beds and lockers so you can secure valuables. On the downside, the hangers were broken. The bathrooms were a litte disappointing, as the shower was broken on our floor and the next closest bathroom had door lock...

Very happy with this hostel. My room was a 4 bed dorm and there were curtains that could separate each section for individual privacy. The breakfast was AMAZING... full English breakfast included, made to order. The staff were really nice and friendly. 24 hour reception. Located in the university district near good food options and tourist sites. Chill vibes with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Included is a FREE English Breakfast that includes Bacon, Sausage, egg, beans and toast. Or Porridge or scrambled eggs and bacon. Please note breakfast is strictly between 8 and 10 with no exceptions. All breakfast served only with coffee or tea. Lagan Backpackers is simply a large Belfast house that has been converted into a Backpackers Hostel; and it is owned and run by a South African guy who knows what backpackers want. Our high ratings are mostly due to the great attention and recommendations that you can expect from both myself and my staff. My idea for a great hostel is very simple: to make you feel at home. To give you a comfortable bed to sleep in, to keep the noise down after eleven to ensure a peaceful sleep and to make you feel so at home that you make new friends and enjoy Belfast as much as possible. We provide advice on all tours of Northern Ireland, and will only recommend tours that we have personally experienced. We advise that our customers do not pre-book tours before visiting as we find that some tour operators overcharge and do not provide the level of customer satisfaction that we expect for our guests. In addition to this, Lagan Backpackers hostel is very friendly to single travellers, as we go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. We are located minutes from the City Centre, the Lagan River and the picturesque Queens University campus; and mere moments away from the lively Botanic Avenue where there are many restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs for our customers to enjoy. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens that boast beautiful greenhouses and the famed Tropical Ravine is a short walk away, adjacent to the Ulster Museum. ** No groups, stag parties, hen parties or drunken weekends like Paddys day!! Please remember only for the 11,12,13,14 July I do not accept booking from people from the UK (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales..Also no American or Canadian band members). This is only for the marching season. No refunds on deposits will be given and you will be turned away on arrival. No stag or hen parties or groups without prior permission. ... more   less
