With family in Carnoustie we have regularly visited this hotel over the years. It has potential be a fabulous hotel due to location and golf clients. Unfortunately it’s now rather tired and badly in need of a refurbishment especially in the lounge and dining area. When we had dinner in May I don’t think there was a chair that didn’t have ripped or stained upholstery. I just dont think there is an excuse for that especially in a 4-star. The corridor of the top floor suites was filled with old torn sofas - not a good look I’m afraid. Upside staff are lovely and welcoming and very helpful.
No issues at all, rooms, service, food and pool were great. Family weekend for 2 yearly party with friends. Have had cheaper weekends with similar facilities but as a planned family event willing to pay more. Stayed in room 204 which overlooks the car park, and is a family room with 2 double/king beds which were so comfortable -best sleep ever! Didn’t use the golf facilities, but the views from the outside bar over the golf course are stunning.
Fantastic hotel. Great staff. Always friendly and the food is generally great too. The whole experience was great. Just as good as before the pandemic if not even better. Will definitely be back and hopefully in the not too distant future.

Lovely stay at this lovely hotel. Couldn’t fault a thing. Comfortable room and bar areas. Food was lovely. Used the leisure facilities and also booked a massage. Lovely walk around the golf course.Would like to return when it’s a bit warmer and enjoy a drink on the terrace.
