Skip the starters and get tucked right into a steak. They are massive. Comes with lots of onions rings( they are amazing) mushrooms, tomato, massive bowl of chips and salad. Served on a sizzler. So worth the money and very very filling and tastes so much food. Deserts are also huge. I recommend the snowball mountain sundae. The sticky toffee...

We have visited this hotel for lunch before and it does not disappoint. Good choice of home cooked meals with good sized portions and always hot when served. We had my son and his family with us this time which included a three year and a nine month old baby. We had a nice table in the bar with plenty...

Eaten at the Strathmore Arms a few times. The food is consistently good and portion sizes are generous. The menu doesn't seem to have changed for years but has good variety. If you have the nacho starters then have them as a sharing plate or you will struggle to manage your main as the plateful is huge. The bar area...

We spent two nights here in late February 2017. Clean and very welcoming. Great breakfast and a very nice place. We have eaten here on a number of occasions and always have a great meal. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere of the bar and dining room is top class. We will return again. Another great place to eat.

Great home cooked meals. Take your appetite as generous portions. Staff busy but friendly and helpful. Ate in the bar area warm fire and cozy atmosphere, decor is old fashioned buts adds a bit to the whole experience. Definitely worth a visit

Small private function ~30 people. Very good value meal, piping hot and fresh and with friendly service. The servings were also good sized so nobody left feeling hungry. Draft beer was also good but the soda machine needs repaired (lacking any fizz).

Haven't reviewed for a while but last night's meal was so good! To cater for 27 members of Letham Drama Group on a bust Saturday night with such a varied menu, such brilliant food and attentive service. Too many places are short-staffed and not up to standard but this certainly doesn't apply here! I couldn't Fault my meal: basil and...

Husband and I took my mother in law for a meal as she's quite a fussy eater so we need a varied menu and on recombination of others. Not disappointed. I had a herring salad starter which was delicious and big portion. Husband ordered nachos as a starter which is a full large plate so beware! Two of us then...

We went with friends to the Strathmore arms and was not disappointed food and staff were exceptional, very friendly with a big roaring fire to keep the winter chill out. There was a great selection of food from Scottish to Curries and vegetarian as well all expertly cooked.
