This place is an absolute gem, relaxed, friendly and just on the beach. If you have dogs and outdoorsy kids it's perfect! We sat on the terrace with drinks and watched the sunset over Isla and Jura while the kids played on the beach just...More
Had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in the Argyll Hotel - Kintyre. Ian and Nick have created such a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and their team is friendly and helpful too. Wonderful breakfasts, beautiful beach view and lots to see and do on the doorstep....More
As a first impression from the outside, the hotel looked a bit tatty, but the homely welcome inside was personal. Out room was clean and tidy, if a little small, as was the en-suite. The Restaurant was a conservatory overlooking the beach with sea views...More

We had a wonderful couple of days at this hotel. Ian and Nick and all the staff could not have been kinder. The food was lovely, the welcome was warm, the dogs loved their blankets and biscuits and Ian's breakfasts are amazing.. worth going back...More
In need of a chill-out escape, 2 nights here did the trick in some style! Nick & Ian are great hosts, making you feel genuinely welcome, as do the rest of the staff. They have created an ambiance inside to match the location outside.

Hi Elizabeth - we are very dog friendly and your dog would be welcome in all public areas of the hotel except the conservatory restaurant area - however, you can eat in the bar area with your dog. If the weather is good you can also eat outside on the beachside terrace. More details on our website. All the best Nick

It will be great to see / meet you. You are very welcome in the hotel. As you will know we are dog friendly and your dog is welcome in all areas of the hotel other than the restaurant area when we are serving food. You can however eat in the bar or out on the terrace (weather permitting!). If you want to eat it is always advisable to book (even if eating in the bar or outside). I'm really sorry I'm not well informed about other dog friendly places in the area - but there a re a wealth of beaches and good walks to be had. I know you can sit outside at the Ferry Farm tearoom in Taiynloan, by the Gigha ferry terminal. There is also outdoor seating at the Black Sheep pub (part of the Royal Hotel) with nice views across Campbeltown Loch.
All the best
