This is the 4th time of me and my mum been here very clean the owners are very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is fab. Easy parking and not far away from the shops would definitely recommend it thanks for a lovely stay will be back 😀

My partner and I had decided on a last minute trip to galashiels and had a wonderful overnight in this guest house. It is clean and tidy, the owners are very friendly and welcoming and to top it all off our full cooked breakfast in the morning was fab. Thanx again definitely be back ♡ xxx

A great breakfast and Malcolm in particular was very friendly. Arrived around 10pm and very grateful for the room for the night.Very central spot and a good place to sop along the way to or from the Scottish Highlands.

My Bulgarian friend and I stayed in Monorene late October for two nights and must say we were very pleased with it. Location is superb-easy accsess to the main roads ,well signposted ,free parking,2 min wlk to shops and restaurants. Our room was very spacious and scrupulously clean! Spent a week at the Monorene for a walking holiday. Excellently hosted by Malcolm & Joan with comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast that kept me fuelled for the day. Malcolm also helpfully supplied info on where to eat and drink in Gala. Handily located for the bus station which gave us an opportunity to spend a rest day in...

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and it's great!! We were at a friends wedding and they recommended we stay here. Malcolm and Joan are just wonderful and the accommodation is lovely, clean and welcoming and in a great location, very central. We will definitely stay here again.

I stayed at the Monorene for 4nights with my mum and son aged 6 and daughter aged 10. It Had the best location for me close to everything.The car park at the back of the building.It was great value for money . My husband, brother and myself stayed at the Monorene whilst attending Galashiels for my daughter's graduation. I would recommend this b & b as being exceptionally clean, the owner Malcolm and his wife were very friendly and welcoming, and showed a kind interest in their guests. We had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning. Hence the reason we wouldnt hesitate...

The Monorene is a traditional Guest House set in the heart of Galashiels, just a stones throw from the train station where you can jump on a train and be in Edinburgh within an hour. The guest house features 6 rooms, with a mix of singles, twin and family rooms. All the rooms are well appointed, clean and tidy, and have all the facilities you would expect. Guests will receive a warm welcome and have use of free parking, free wifi, a home cooked breakfast and much more. Galshiels is a small quiet town located perfectly for day trips to Edinburgh, without having to pay the high prices of city accommodation, but close enough to make travel to the city a breeze. Train tickets to Edinburgh are just £10. The owners pride themselves on the cleanliness and warmth of the accommodation, making sure each and every guest enjoys their stay. Your day will get off to a fantastic start with a delicious home cooked breakfast. The Borders is full of historic places to visit: Ancient Abbeys, Stately homes, Museums, Roman Ruins and most of all the most beautiful scenery that can be found in Scotland. The Scottish Borders is also home to Freedom of the Fairways where you can visit up to 21 of the friendliest Golf Courses in Scotland with Golf passports from £75 for 3 days and £110 for 5 days.
