Had supper there tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well cooked and nicely presented. Good portion size. Friendly helpful staff. New management, so hope it's a great success. Liked the new décor. Just a little bit different from what it used to be like.

This place is special to us and have been very disappointed with previous owners. We are so pleased with our experience tonight - food was excellent (steak was more cooked than we ordered but still very juicy and nice), service was good and we hope that the new owners will build the place back up (changed at end of March)....

We arrived on a Tuesday evening and were nicely welcomed by Annabelle, who was working behind the bar, serving food and acting as the receptionist. We were hungry so asked to see the menu, unfortunately, the chef had left the previous Saturday but the two choices available were well presented and nicely cooked. We were shown to our room which...

Looked good on Trip Advisor. Arrived around four. Piece of paper on door "open at five". Sat in car waiting, girl arrived went round back. Eventually noticed lights on and went in. Booking not registered so lucky I had e-mail confirmation. Went to room and girl asked "Do you require food?" Alarm bells should have rung out. I said if...

We stayed here in two Motorhomes, with electric hook up and water point provided. There were two families and as we ate in the restaurant there was no charge for the stopover. The car park isn't huge so we'd booked it in advance - although we were the only ones in. There was a bit of confusion with the restaurant...

I'm a travelling engineer, I work a very physical job and I need a good meal at the end of a hard day's work in the cold. Everything on the menu was pretentious and overpriced. Jus this and truffle that. A "suggestion" of parmesan? Really? It's a pub in the middle of nowhere. So I had to order the fish...

Management response:

you did not have to order the fish and chips if you could not afford £9.50 for locally sourced (not frozen) fish you could have gone elsewhere we are not a pub in the middle of nowhere neither do we serve over priced food you picked only three items for breakfast the full breakfast was available to you on the...

I stayed here for a night on business and what a delight. I checked in and settled down in the lounge area to do some work - I was surprised to be presented with a delicious slice of homemade cake and coffee, what a treat! The owners are a lovely couple who are doing a fantastic job of renovating this...

Using a Voucher purchased from ITISON: My Wife and I plus our two Labradors had to cancel a previous booking we made at The Horse and Hound in JULY 2016 . The Hotel owners were very sorry that the circumstances meant we couldn't arrange our stay on the dates we had chosen however, they informed us that our stay could...

The pub is peaceful and relaxing which boast a very charming rustic atmosphere. The food served is very good also which is tasty and quickly...
