We stayed at Hetland Hall on 19th February 2016, as part of a tour of scotland. After staying in many hotels all across Scotland, I was initially apprehensive of staying at Hetland Hall due to some of the reviews, and was prepared to move on if it was not suitable. However, this was not necessary. We were provided with a...

Just returned home from a 3 night stay at Hetland Hall. Stayed here a few times in the past and never been disappointed, staff friendly and helpful, knowledge of local area very good. There were a couple of very minor issues on the first day but they were acted on and put right straight away. Food is excellent, interesting menu...

Comfortable, clean room. Very dog friendly, as advertised. Bar meals excellent value. Staff friendly and helpful. Extensive, well-maintained grounds great for dog-walking. Recommended. Our first choice the next time we visit the area.

Stayed here recently on a short break with my partner. Found the hotel decor to be a little dated but I feel this adds to the experience when booking to stay in an old property. The room itself was spotless and the bed comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening and the food was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed...

Good points - the evening meal was quite delicious. The public areas are well presented in particular the entrance hall looks quite grand. Bad points - the bedroom and en-suite bathroom were shabby and in need of a major refurbishment. The exterior of the building also needs some Tlc.

Stayed here for 1 night 22/1/16 ...the room was absolutely disgusting, covered in spiders webs, months worth of dust, rusty dirty bathroom radiator, almost all the lights were broken, ceiling repair work half finished, flaked paint on bathroom shelf, no mould on window , and no blind or proper curtain on the window. no bottles of water or complimentary shower...

Hotel is quiet and the view are beautiful. All the staff are very helpful and nice. There was a really nice woman doing the dinner and bar when we came. She was making sure everyone was happy and poor thing look like she had broken her arm. She told my partner a good wine to drink also. My only complaint...

We visited Hetland Hall using a voucher deal. we upgraded this to a superior room since no standard rooms were available as a twin configuration. A second evening dinner was also added at a supplement. Hetland Hall is a lovely old country house with views over the Solway Firth. It is well located for exploration of the area from Gretna...

OK, we were there on a Wowcher, but that shouldn't affect quality. We loved everything - the roaring fires in the lounge and bar, the excellent food in the restaurant, the helpful and friendly staff....but there was no heating at all in the quite spacious bathroom. We mentioned it but it wasn't fixed whilst we were there. Nor was there...
