Had a wonderful time at Mabie House Hotel over New Years. We visited five years ago and had a great time so we decided to book again and weren't disappointed. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. The rooms are huge and well-maintained, great value for money. It is a great location for walking and is within touching distance...

This is not a modern building but it is full of character, the rooms are spacious and well kept though could do with a fresh coat of paint in places. The staff are superb, friendly and very helpful. The food is excellent. The situation is also spot on with immediate access to some great walking, a NNR and plenty of...

We stayed two nights at the hotel with our two sons. Mabie forest on the doorstep for cycling and walking and we stayed in lovely big room overlooking the garden to the front and had a separate lounge which was a bonus. Comforting food and a toasty dining room with fire on the go. Really pleasant helpful staff - a...

We've been to Mabie many times now, we got married here in 2014 and the occasion this particular time was for our son's christening lunch. A lovely welcome by Amber, who provided a great service all through lunch, always time for a quick chat & smile even though busy. Food was fabulous as always, beautifully home cooked by head chef...

The hotel is less than a ten pound cab ride from Dumfries railway station, on the edge of Mabie Forest, the views from my room (5) were spectacular, the hotel itself is a magnificent old building and the staff are very efficient, kind and relaxed. Everybody gets married here, it is a spectacular setting if you want peace and quiet,...

I've been to this area every year for the last 10 years, but this is the first time at Mabie House, but it wont be the last. The low season rates are first class, the rooms huge, the staff spot on and the breakfast as good as it gets for B&B. Even the on site bar is reasonably priced, especially...

We visited last week-end arriving after 5pm We were given directions, not taken to our room..No3. We initially were impressed by the size of the room but very quickly changed our mind. It was very dark although it was early evening .We put on the side lamps and the central light which had horrendous cobwebs and a very dirty light...

I stayed at the Mabie House hotel whist cycle touring. The staff were very friendly, the room was good, plenty of hot water for the shower and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel had secure cycle parking which was really useful. Overall, I would recommend the Mabie House hotel if you are staying in the area.
