We spent three nights here and Geraldine and Joe were the perfect hosts. The bed was very comfortable, the guests' drawing room was vast and had a brilliant supply of local maps and books and if anything needed attention, they were happy to help. The Baytree's special charm is that it's not a standardised chain.

I'm staying here tonight with work. On arrival the owner greeted me as I walked in the door. She was very helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. The room was a lovely en suite with all necessary compliments such as toiletries and drink facilities it even had a small bottle of complimentary cherry for a nightcap. There...

We visited Kirkcudbright on the weekend 8-9th July, my first ever visit to Scotland, my husband previously lived there. Baytree house is an amazing place to stay Geraldine and Joe are the perfect hosts, and welcome you to their lovely Home. Baytree House is decorated to a very high standard, and spotlessly clean. The breakfast table was full with good...

We visited Kirkcudbright to catch up with our ancestors in the local cemetery. A lovely, quaint town with plenty to see and do. The Stewartry Museum was a highlight, while the castle has the best preserved mediaeval kitchens in the UK. Everything about the Baytree was perfect. Reasonably priced, Geraldine greeted us with a cup of tea and some shortbread,...

We stayed for just one night for the Jazz Festival. This was the perfect location as it was situated a very short walk from the main evening venue. A charming period property with lots of extras offered eg fresh milk and a carafe of sherry, plus plenty of local information for those new to the area. Breakfast was delicious with...

In the world of B&Bs, this was very average. Rooms were not very spacious and mattresses and pillows could use a renewal, although bathrooms were good with lovely strong water pressure. Hosts were very nice, but our overall impression was that this was a weary B&B, a bit too cluttered and dusty. Kirkcudbright was a quick stop on our Roots...

Took a flyer with this B&B based upon positive Trip Advisor ratings. I was not disappointed as it met the bill to the full. I had a comfortable room, if not too large as somehow I'd booked for a twosome - wishful thinking, I guess! Geraldine was a first rate hostess in what was nicely located approximate to the superb...

Lovely couple who are very welcoming. The room was spotless with lots of wee greeting gestures which was a lovely touch. The shower was amazing as was the breakfast in the morning 😊. A large sitting room with lots of variety from DVDs to books. Very nice view from our window and also got a show around the self catering...
