My husband and I really enjoyed our 2 nights here, we'd been before a few years ago so knew it was a good hotel. Room clean, quiet, comfortable, breakfast buffet marvellous, nice atmosphere, special mention to Sarah who was very helpful and nice when we asked for a quiet room, Karen, Glasgow.

Return visit but second time wasn’t so good. We were allocated a twin room despite booking a double. Reception rectified immediately and allocated us a double room however it was not to the front with the views over the river (on the side with views onto the building next door) and we had to walk through a very smelly corridor ( think the carpet had been shampooed and it had stirred up some very unpleasant odours). Fortunately the room was fine- clean and comfortable. We didn’t realise when we were offered a breakfast in a bag that it would be so paltry ( see pic). I expected something a little more, even extra milk so you could have a morning cuppa, a carton of fruit juice and a yoghurt might have eased my dissatisfaction. Made worse as we walked through the breakfast area where people were sitting clearly having more substantial breakfasts at tables for the same price we paid. Unlikely to return.

Hi Sandra M, I'm glad you choose our hotel for your visit to Dundee. Thank you for staying. We promise a comfortable and convenient experience for all of our guests. I'm sorry you experienced issues with the stay, especially with the room allocation, hallway smell, and breakfast. I can see these dampened your visit. Trust that I alerted our management about this so we can make the necessary changes to better our service. On the bright side, I'm glad you appreciated our room's cleanliness and comfort. We appreciate your feedback about your stay and looking forward to your next travel. Many Thanks, Rein D Case Manager IHGService

We stayed over night as a stop off on route to Northern Scotland.

Hotel location is very central and parking is provided in the multi story car park, which an access link to the hotel. This was approx. £10 for the night, no discounts from the hotel.

Staff were all polite and friendly and check in process was quick.

Room itself was standard holiday Inn express, but comfortable for one night. Room was on the front which does have traffic noise if the window is open. Being a warm night, this was a pain. I did enjoy the extra security that an active room card is needed to access the room corridor. Especially as street access is on ground level and reception is on 3, so no security to enter the building from the street.

Breakfast under covid was good and even though the hot is served to you was plentiful. Half hour slots were booked and it worked as wasn’t crowded. The cold items (cereals, toast, pastries etc etc) were all placed out for self service as was the juices and tea. This was good as other holiday inn express we have stayed at, everything is served for you and limited choice.

Overall an ideal stop over, central for town and bars and restaurants 2 minute walk away. I can highly recommend Rancho Pancho if you like Mexican.

Visited Dundee for my sons graduation and stayed here for one night when I phoned to book the girl on the phone gave me directions for parking in the council car park which if you park here and go to the 3rd floor takes right into reception £10.20 for 24 hours. On our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly man who I believe is called Jim who was super pleasant and seemed genuinely happy to help us and directed us t our room with the Wi-Fi code and password 😊 we were in room 209 overlooking the Tay bridge on a beautiful sunny day the room was a standard twin room absolutely spotless with a hair dryer, ironing board and iron , tea, coffee, kettle cups, glasses and If you had forgotten anything e.g toiletries they can provide you with them , toilet and shower again spotless with lovely dove soap, shower gel and shampoo well done housekeeping staff.Breakfast was provided and is served from 6.30-10 am and there was 4 types of cereal , yogurts, fruit, croissants, muffins , bread, rolls and also sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon and beans which were all nice and hot along with fruit juice team and coffee (takeaway also catered for) the food area again was nice and clean but my only gripe and maybe it’s just me being fussy but I cannot stand cold plates to put hot food on apart from that this is 3 minutes walk the the centre and the caird hal with lovely staff keep up the good work

Stayed overnight, we were allocated an accessible room on the 2nd floor. Unfortunately the room was not up to standard, we always check everything before we settle in. The bathroom was the worst - the paint came off the handrail in the shower in large pieces and was dirty, the one at the toilet had a screw hanging off.
We complained and were instantly given a room which had been recently decorated and all fittings renewed, this was so much better and we must thank Kludia for her service and how efficiently she dealt with our complaints. The only other complaint was something the hotel had little control over was the children allowed to run up and down the corridor from 8:30 until about 10:30pm.

Hello lindagP8494KQ, Thanks for choosing Holiday Inn Express for your lodging needs and leaving feedback. We offer brilliant basics and a little more where it matters most. I’m sorry we missed the mark this time. I know it’s frustrating having a room that falls short of your expectations. Just returned from 3 nights at £111. This included breakfast each day for both. Nice double room, friendly and efficient staff. Breakfasts were great albeit you had to book your 30 minute slot due to COVID restrictions. Everyone (staff and guests) very diligent with mask wearing when we were there and good systems in place. I would have given a very good revue even it had been much more expensive but amazing value at that rate. The adjacent Council run car park is conveniently connected by a short bridge and usually about £10 a day but was still free on our visit so that was another major bonus.

Booked a 2 night stay here, travelling up from Newcastle, we arrived on Thursday, at lunchtime, checked in early as room was ready, Klaudia on reception was super nice, very efficient and explained everything we needed to ensure our stay was covid secure.. Liked the security of the key cards to enter the floors and rooms, hotel was not very busy, I emailed for a quiet room, but got 210 facing the garage.. Room itself was usual holiday room, comfy beds, nice bathroom, no fridge, breakfast was OK, one way system, staff cleaned constantly, only complaint was young children running up and down our corridor screaming at 7,33am, and Still at it at breakfast at 9am, would have liked a view of the tay Bridge but maybe next time.....

We stayed here last week and one of the first things I noticed was .....happy staff. They all were extremely helpful and super efficient. I have to mention Lorraine as we had a slight problem with our room and within 5 minutes we were moved and given 2 drinks vouchers and extra supplies of tea and coffee. Lorraine was very apologetic and was amazing how quickly she fixed everything. At breakfast you always see some plates lying waiting to be collected. Not with Leston in charge. He swiftly removed dishes and I was very impressed with the cleaning job he did with every table. and chairs left spotless. I will of course return for another wee break. Thank you to all the staff who made our 2 day stay so pleasant

The hotel may be entered via Dock Street or via a bridge on level 3 of the car park on Gellatley St. The car park does charge for hours between 8pm and 8am.
The hotel enforces a mask policy for guests. Our 4th floor room was clean and comfortable with tea facilities. Strong cleaning spray used in room irritated my wife’s nose and eyes. Included buffet breakfast was good. Very handy location for city centre and the V&A (closed Tuesdays) and Discovery Centre.

The gentleman who greeted us at reception couldn’t be any nicer! Made us feel extremely welcome. Pointed out the attractions and times places which were closed! I can’t remember his name yet he called me by my surname over the few days we were there. Attention to detail😁. The room was bog standard hotel room with a guest sette bed for my daughter. There was a double perhaps smaller bed which was comfortable and the room was warm. The breakfast was excellent in these current times of COVID and the cleanliness was above standard and made us feel safe. The car parking was useful as it took us to reception through a walkway and it should have been £10 plus each day which we didn’t need to pay as the barrier was open and ticket machine not working (result 🤣) The staff at the hotel were all very helpful and seemed interested in our stay.

All in all a great place to stay in the centre of Dundee! I would choose this again on my return in the future.

Hi the hotel in right in centre of town so short walk to all shops. Usually a hot breakfast but due to covid restrictions at the moment the bacon and sausage rolls are made up and kept warm. There is still orange juice, pastries, tea and coffee.
