First class Hotel...only stay a night for daughter's graduation but will return. Lovely rooms, very clean and dynamic young staff who actually take an intein what they do. Very impressed. Previous reviews commented on parking but surely this is unfair...there is a safe public carpark with tons of spaces incredibly close to the hotel. Not an issue to put us off for sure.

I seldom gush about a hotel but this is an exception. The building is an old converted Jute mill with much of the history either intact or highlighted. Upon arrival we were taken by Chef Macca through the kitchen entrance as there are no signs stating the hotel entrance. This degree of customer service was on display our entire stay. All the staff were lovely, helpful and professional. Ross on front desk kindly took time to show us some suites as we were genuinely interested in the old Jute mill and the well complemented conversion to a modern hotel. He was very proud of the hotel and it showed. Our room though not a suite was spacious, modern and very comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic, underfloor heating, light, cosy with a huge walk in shower and tv volume available. The attention to detail in the rooms decor was great with many quirky references to Dundee and its history. Amenities were great though I would up the teabag quota from two to four to allow for a fresh brew the following morning.
Whilst visiting hotels I tend to eat out and enjoy the local flavors which I did one evening and breakfast however as I was I search of a good Sunday roast I decided to eat in Daisy Tasker.
I was so glad I did. I had an absolutely fabulous plated roast of beef ,Yorkshire pudding , both creamed and roasted potatoes, veg and a pot of gravy. My partner opted for the Roast chicken. Followed by desserts. It was all very tasty and exactly what I wanted. The young maitre d' was very attentive, personable and recommended a lovely red wine. All in all a most delicious meal , though perhaps horseradish and mustard could offered accompaniments.
I will recommend this Hotel to friends and I look forward to both returning as well as trying the new Indigo hotel in Edinburgh.

Dear Nigel B, Well what can I say, we are honoured to be your exception! Thank you so very much for sharing your experience of the hotel and our staff. It's wonderful to hear you found the staff passionate and friendly, we all truly enjoy working at the hotel and showing it off to our guests. The renovation and facilities are great, it's nice to be somewhere different and for our guests to experience a local taste of Dundee. And talking of taste, I'm so glad you took the chance to dine in Daisy Tasker. Our chef's very much love serving up a good roast and I'm pleased you enjoyed it. We always have horseradish and mustard to hand, I will make sure we offer our guests this from now on. Enjoy your trip to Edinburgh and we really look forward to welcoming you back next time you are in Dundee. Kindest Regards Alice Guest Services Manager

We booked a 2 night break to get away for Hogmanay, and decided to book Dundee, as they had a street party on. We booked a room at the Hotel Indigo, which was extremely reasonable in price, especially for the time of year. We were celebrating a birthday and an anniversary. When we got to the hotel, we were greeted by Alison on reception, who squeeled with delight that we had arrived, and had been chosen as the hotels GOD (Guest of the day) she advised us that we had been upgraded to the discovery suite, and gave us some additional IHG points, vouchers for free drinks and advised we had some additional goodies in the room to enjoy. The welcome was lovely, and made us feel very special! The room was beautiful, it had a view out to the Tay river, the Tay Bridge, and other sights of Dundee. We were welcomed into the room to some towel art, which was 2 elephants made out of towels, cozied up on the bed, along with a couple of wine glasses. We had wine, chocolates, irn bru and snacks to enjoy in the fridge. The room was large and spacious, modern but capturing original features of the original building, which I believe was a mill. We had exposed brick and beams for the roof. The bathroom was very large, with double shower, complete with a choice of rainfall shower or standard shower. It had a very large bath, heated flooring and modern fixtures throughout. The room was beautiful, and we enjoyed staying here very much. The staff in the hotel were friendly, and always seemed to want to make sure everything was okay, and it appeared they wanted to go out their way to make our stay special. Alison was lovely throughout our stay, and couldn't have done enough for us. The hotel has a restaurant/bar area called the daisy tasker, which was modern and the staff were very nice. The breakfast was cooked to order and we enjoyed this very much - on New Year's Day, this was extended to 12pm, which was a great idea, as a lot of people would have been out celebrating on New year's Eve. The only downside to our stay, was when I had taken a bath, and let the water go from the bath, it started to come out from underneath the bath, which in turn caused the guests in the room below to have a leak in their room. Once I had cleaned the water up, Alison from reception called to ask if everything was alright, and she explained there was a leak into the guest below. She offered to come up and clean up the water, but I had already managed to do, instead she offered to come up with fresh towels, and we weren't able to use the bath again until the maintenance person had a look at it the following day. That being said, this was just a small glitch, that we couldn't let put a dampener on our stay. If you are in Dundee, this is definitely the hotel to be staying at. It's a 5-7 minute walk to the heart of the city, and it's close the V&A museum too. I look forward to our next stay here, hopefully without a leaky bath next time! 😂

Got a few days off work so decided to Do a short trip around Scotland. Dundee was our second stop. We chose the hotel indigo as the photos looked nice and we have stayed in a few indigo hotels (which can be hit or miss) but this one is definitely a big HIT.
Gorgeous building transformed from a 200 year old mill with much of the original brick work on show especially in the Daisy Tasker restaurant which is part of the hotel.
Parking is limited (12.50 per night) but there is a public car park down the road. Luckily it was free until 10th or 11th May. Spacious lobby with hand sanitising stations at the entrance.
At the check in desk there are pots of sanitised pens to use and a place to put used pens. Plastic patricians to protect the check in staff. My room was ready to check in and the keys were already sorted and placed in an envelope I presume to speed up the check in process and also to reduce the amount of time spent at the check in desk. Also a good way to protect the check in staff. Very well thought of. The check in staff were friendly and very welcoming.
We were upgraded to the Peter Carmichael suite which is on the 3rd floor it had a lovely view of Dundee looking out over the city. The room has a king size bed which was really comfortable, an nespresso machine, a kettle, fridge with complimentary irn bru, water and a tunnocks tea cake.
In the bathroom There were robes and slippers a separate bath and shower,
The living area had 2 seats a small coffee table. There was a massive tv on the wall next to the bed but it was a little close to the bed to watch it in bed but with limited space I understand why this was the best place to put it.
There were roller blinds and blackout curtains at both windows. 1 of the windows could be opened but there was a bit of noise when the window was opened ( we are in a busy city so it’s understandable ) but the room had a/c which you could also use as a heater.

I think because the furniture was black the dust stood out more. Most surfaces had a layer of dust on them but it wasn’t a bother I just wiped them clean.
The hotel only opened on Friday again (we stayed Sunday night) so it could have been a couple of days without anyone being in the room.
Price wise it was a cracking deal. Like I said I paid for a superior room (but I was upgraded due to being a platinum member) costing in the region of £72 which included breakfast which I thought was an excellent price to pay for such a lovely hotel.
The staff are by far some of the nicest I have met ( this includes the serving staff in the daisy Tasker restaurant).

The pros definitely outweigh the cons. The cons being the parking and the dust. So I would definitely recommend staying at the Hotel Indigo Dundee. ( sorry I didn’t take many photos before it was lived in lol )

A beautiful building, well adapted to being a boutique hotel. The check-in process was a breeze and the staff were friendly. The exposed brick and vaulted ceiling in the room is an amazing feature and the whole design of the hotel is both beautiul and modern whilst also being sympathetic to its origins as a textile factory. The linen felt good quality, the bed was plush and the shower facility was fantastic. I would like to heap particular praise on the addition of the red stool in the bathroom which provides the perfect viewing platform when the wife was in the shower - a design aspect we would love to introduce into our own home. Win. Further win for the water bottles in the room (as well as tea, coffee, biscuits, iron, ironing board, hair dryer - this room is well stocked!) and the convenience of the pantry in the lobby for other essentials is another big plus.

The location is slightly too far from the station to lug suitcases but walkable without in about 20/25 minutes. There is a real lack of taxis in Dundee at present however the desk was always happy to help assist and the taxi rank out front had availability surprisingly often.

Recommend staying for breakfast. The set price includes unlimited continental as well as cooked breakfast, coffee, tea, juices and fruits. The range of food was impressive and the quality of food for breakfast (and dinner too) was outstanding.

Best place to stay in Dundee? Quite possibly.

We spent a night at the hotel.

We checked in at 8PM and were allocated room 206, which was the standard twin room we booked for 17K IHG points (a great rate).
Parking was apx. 17USD.
The hotel’s lobby features an eclectic array of industrial materials and 1980’s memorabilia and looks absolutely wonderful.

We were not prepared for such a room, though.
Our bran new room was massive! It featured a curved high brick ceiling, 2 queen beds, 2 giant windows with shades, a desk and chair, an armchair and coffee table.
There was also a big TV, a minibar, a safe and complimentary water bottles.

The bathroom was huge as well, and featured a giant shower with a good water pressure, a sink, a toilet and Arran bathroom toiletries.

We had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel’s Daisy Tasker restaurant at apx. 14USD per person, as it was not included with our IHG points rate (I’ve written a separate review about it).

Two thumbs up go to Mr. Ivan Marinov at reception, who was absolutely remarkable in welcoming us and taking care of us.

Bottom line - this is an absolutely fantastic hotel. Make sure this is your hotel while in Dundee.

What a beautiful hotel 😄 staff were really friendly and helpful . The decor of the hotel is stunning me and my husband booked through myhotelbreak.com for DBB and we were not disappointed room was superb the beds so comfortable and never heard any noise its very peaceful place. Our dinner was delicious the food was 10 out of 10 theres only a small car park in the courtyard but that was not a problem as a 2 minute walk gets you to the nearest carpark to leave the car which cost only £10 for our stay . Plenty of drink choices to 🙂🙂🙂 we then went a short walk before dinner to a couple of local pubs of which 1 had a band playing and it was very enjoyable and people are so friendly in the area so from me I would defo recommend this beautiful hotel and will return again in the future 🙂🙂🙂🙂

A lovely hotel ideally located for exploring Dundee city centre. Hotel parking is limited and charged which was disappointing however the council car park at the foot of the hill had plenty of space and was reasonably priced.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean. We stayed in the Bell Tower suite which was well equipped with a large bath and rainwater shower.
The breakfast buffet offered limited choices for those who are gluten free however there are GF options available if you ask staff. Breakfast was OK. Not the best we have eaten but perfectly acceptable.
Would recommend a stay here to anyone visiting Dundee.

Hotel was lovely, with industrial aesthetic owing to its previous use as a textile mill. Rooms were clean and spacious with a comfy bed/seating area. En-suite was also a good size. Staff were friendly and always happy to help. Only downside is the parking on site is very limited so we had to find parking in the city; fortunately there is a car park at the bottom of the hill from the hotel however this is pay as you park with max ticket lengths at a day so we had to nip down each morning to buy a fresh ticket (£10.20 for the day). Breakfast was nice with a large buffet selection of individually packaged food/drinks to keep things covid safe. Make sure you get down early as it can get quite busy after 9am.

Had a lovely 2 days at this hotel & would recommend it. The staff were friendly & helpful, especially Louis, at breakfast she advised us on restaurants & places to see in Dundee. We were upgraded to a superior room (217) which was lovely & large with duel aspect window & high ceilings, like you would expect from an old converted mill, although noisy with traffic & air con (even after turned off). The bathroom was modern with 2 good pressure water heads (rain & usual) & nice toiletries, there was also a fridge with 2 free small bottles of water. We had dinner the first night in the hotel, soup, chef special chilli, steak & ST pudding, all were very nice, as was the service. Cooked breakfast was lovely, with the usual cold options, most of the cold options were in boxes or containers, ie small bottles of milk, small cartons of orange juice, even the bread was in a 2 slice package, not very environmentally friendly, but could be because of covid. Main negative was the parking, the small courtyard £12.50 per night if you are able to get a space (shares with the staybridge suites) There is a council car park, about 5 mins walk away, which is free from 6pm to 8am, or take the chance on the double or single yellow lines if you are out early.
