The Clarendon is ideally located on the Perth Road which means it’s an easy walk into town and also easily accessible from the A90. There is on street parking directly outside, but also plenty of spaces on the nearby side streets which are a bit quieter.

Check in was very simple, all done via email/text with door codes sent to you before arrival, so no waiting in a queue at reception etc. The owner came to speak to us and was really friendly, giving us some good advice on places to go.

The room was a really nice place to be - one of those where you don’t necessarily want to go out because it’s such a relaxing space. There’s a massive tv, the bed was huge and really comfy, and having a fridge and microwave was very helpful. Everything is finished to a high standard and the attention to detail is obvious - plenty of sockets at each bedside, plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe, and really nice complementary toiletries and biscuits etc.

The shower was very spacious and good pressure/temperature.

In summary, we will definitely stay here again and would choose The Clarendon over larger hotels like Mal Maison or The Apex.

Recommend highly - the room and kitchenette were brand new, stylish, and sparkling clean with modern and high-tech amenities like contactless use of lights and curtains. The proprietor Kenny is welcoming and extremely kind and helpful if needed. The room was quiet and dark at night. Five-minute walk down Perth Rd. to a lovely block of cafe's, grocery, shops and restaurants.

We couldn't have been made more welcome. Plenty of towels plus tea and coffee and a lovely fresh locally baked Dundee Cake awaited us. Everything was replenished on request. The room was very modern and contained pots and pans plus hob and microwave allowing us to choose between eating in or out. Alexa performed well as the "virtual concierge" opening and closing the curtains and turning the lights off and on. It also provided a hot-line to guest services and an immediate response to any requests.

It's located in the attractive west end of town with lots of shops, cafés and restaurants on the doorstep and the city centre a few minutes drive or about 30 minutes walk.

A great place to stay!

We stayed here because we were going to Caird Hall for a show - location really good for central Dundee on bus route, a short taxi ride or a mile walk into centre. Lovely old building with modern amenities. Our room was self catering, very clean and comfortable and had everything we could have needed including fridge and microwave as well as little thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Dundee.

Easy, simple and effective booking. We stayed as a family to celebrate our daughter’s graduation and had 2 rooms. The Freddie is on the first floor, The Studio on the second floor. As this is a Victorian terraced house, do not be put off by the stairs. If this is an issue, there were 3 rooms on the ground floor. There are 6 tiled steps from the pavement to the front door. Both rooms were bright, spacious, very clean with everything you could need or want. The small kitchenettes are well equipped. Towels and bedding were lovely and soft. The walk-in showers are spacious, appear new and very clean. The entrance, stairs and landing are adorned with colourful, modern and fun art work and furniture. All mod cons with Alexa even ordering a taxi for us! The owner Kenny was around and was extremely friendly and helpful, even bringing us a phone charger to borrow that we had forgotten.
It is 295 Perth Road and a 30 min walk into the centre of Dundee or 5-10 mins in a taxi which cost £6.40. The hotel was very quiet during the night which was lovely. There are about 10 bedrooms and a 2 bed cottage and has a small car park off a quiet near lane. Complimentary tea, coffee, fresh milk in the fridge and Dundee cake and Tunnock’s wafers was a generous and appreciated touch. Small complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms too.
Very good value for money. We would return and highly recommend.

From the last five years of frequent travelling, I can safely say that this was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was very friendly, going above and beyond for guests, Egyptian cotton bedsheets and very soft towels. The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I received a Dundee cake as a welcome gift. If you want a hotel that feels like home, I highly recommend this.

Excellent find. The hotel is lovely the rooms are spotless and such a good size. It was so close to the town centre with loads of restaurants & bars near by if you didn’t fancy the 15 minute walk into the centre of town. The toiletries are great quality and the added extras of fresh milk & cake make it homely. The bathroom in the Freddie which was our room was a great size and the shower was large with ease getting hot water quickly. Great storage with hangers for clothes & good size tv. The kitchen is a great added extra along with black out curtains & an Alexa for lights, curtains and music so you can control the lights & curtains from bed. The reception and hall way was very clean and smelled amazing the check in and check out was very easy. Would highly recommend loved our stay here.

What a lovely place to stay in Dundee. There was ample street parking, check in and out was virtual and very easy (with personalized codes for entry), and the room was beautiful and very comfortable. There even were usb outlets in our room, so no worry about charger conversion if you’re an international traveller. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here in April 2022 for three nights while visiting my daughter in hospital. In fact I booked for just one night but the hotel was so calm and peaceful and lovely I extended my stay so my daughter could have a few days here before going back to uni. The hotel is in a large old building which has been renovated in a contemporary style without ruining all the lovely features of the old building. There is a little kitchenette in each room, perfect for simple dinners with a double induction hob and microwave. Beds are really comfortable and we had some great nights sleep as the hotel is so peaceful. The hotel uses plenty of smart technology with an Alexa in each room instead of the usual information pack. She’ll even shut and open your curtains for you. But despite the smart technology we found the owner to be very accessible. He is often around and very responsive on text if there are any issues or you need more info. This is a great hotel and I highly recommend it.

The Clarendon is very well located for the west end of the Perth Road, a 10 to 15 minute walk from a great selection of pubs, restaurants and shops; there are also plenty of buses to and from the city centre. Our room, or rather apartment was very well appointed and included a well equipped kitchen area and a spacious shower room. The Clarendon staff were lovely and the art work impressive. Heartily recommended.
