Room missing bathrobes, slippers and biscuits on arrival. Also damp patch on roof and peeling paint. No house keeping the next day even though we left sign on the door. Told reception at night once we returned to hotel - still wasn't done but they brought tea bags to our room. Still no biscuits, bottles of water, milk for tea, hot chocolate, refresh of room, clean towels etc. Spoiled the hotel experience. I have stayed in different Apex hotels before and this hotel before too and staff always went above and beyond, but this stay felt lacking and neglected (even though hotel was quiet).
From the outside, the hotel does not truly reflect the standard inside. It has been refurbished inside since our last visit many years ago. As it was our anniversary I booked a suite which was amazing. It was like having our own apartment with entrance lobby, large lounge with modern leather suite, desk & large TV & second toilet off. The double glass doors led through to the bedroom with large comfy bed & another large TV. The floor to ceiling windows throughout were ideal to enjoy the lovely views over the city quay, river Tay & beyond. The bathroom had a large, deep, double-ended bath, large walk-in shower & double wash hand basins. The mirrored wall was great for applying make-up. The whole suite was tastefully decorated. Our dinner was most enjoyable, as was breakfast. COVID-19 protocols were adhered to throughout and, as such, were not able to have a glass of wine with our meal. However, we were able to enjoy a drink after dinner, served to us in our suite. We didn’t use the spa, gym or pool but had a look round and would definitely use them on a return visit. One thing that stood out was the friendliness of all staff. Each one greeted us warmly whenever our paths crossed which makes such a difference. The hotel is very well located, close to shops, tourist attractions etc. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.…
Overall a lovely stay at the Apex City Quay. The hotel is lovely with all modern amenities. The room was large with everything we needed. Good Covid precautions with had sanitiser everywhere. Great location to the city centre of Dundee. I would recommend staying here.
Lovely hotel due to COVID restriction didn’t get the best use of facilities would come back and use them another time. Very handy for V n A museum good value as parking included in room rate and with paying the higher room fee for as 1 nites stay 2 days parking fees .
Apex city quay is a Lovely hotel and it has a great swimming pool. The staff were all very helpful and made sure we were happy with everything and done the best they could with all this going on. Would definitely recommend going!!
