Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

Travelodge Dundry Strathmore Avenue garners praise for its cleanliness and maintenance, although a few guests suggest some spots could benefit from extra attention. Its prime location is celebrated for its proximity to the city center and public transport, despite the bustling road nearby. The amenities, including complimentary parking and dining options, are well-regarded, even as some visitors mention the property could use a refresh. Staff interactions are typically positive, with commendations for their friendliness, but service hiccups are occasionally mentioned. While the hotel's atmosphere is described as no-frills, it is seen as suitably comfortable for the cost. Room opinions are divided, with some noting space and maintenance issues, yet others are content with the cleanliness and size. The hotel's value elicits mixed reactions; some deem it a budget-friendly choice, while others question its worth.

Stayed again at this Travelodge. In light of recent events with the covid 19 glad to see all room staff wearing protective gloves but rooms very clean as they were last time we stayed. Antibacterial cleanser in the room had the choice of a bath or shower in our room . Will be only to happy to go back. Staff are fab always welcoming . Do a fantastic job.

Stayed for 3 nights in a family room and all staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. Our room was big but very tired, only 2 plug sockets and one small window that opened so very hot. We were given fans and an extension lead. The bathroom was basic and smelt badly of damp. It was very cheap and ideal location for our short stay to see family but needs updating and better consideration of what's needed in a family rooms. The staff are a credit to the hotel.

Stayed 3 nights. Good price including breakfast.
Hotel needs complete make over. Had large family room only two plug sockets. Wifi charged for (30 mins free in every 24 hours. Room very hot and stuffy could only open one window few inches. No a/c.
Third night fire alarm went off @ 02.45. No staff to be seen or explain had to rely on other guests. Alarm continued for some time after guests allowed to return. The alarm generated strong acrid electrical smell (not smoke) for over an hour causing breathing difficulties. Disruption lead to us over sleeping and staff would not allow us to have pre-paid breakfast as missed slot by20 mins. Had to check out early to find breakfast elsewhere.

Family room had double bed plus two camp beds. Room large enough for two standard singles.

Hotel needs complete revamp. Some staff need better training on customer service. Alarm management raises serious issues on safety.

Overall fabulous price for a lovely weekend away. Room on 2and floor spotless, clean towels and bedding. Great base for us to visit local beaches and handy for city centre without plenty of free parking. Most of our engagement was with a deputy manager who explained the covid rules and social distancing, no people not in your family to share the lift, use the stairs if possible. Hand sanitizer at the front door entrance, no food or drink available to buy but happy to suggest local places to eat. Glad he suggested the carvery, it was delicious. Well done to the staff

You always know what to expect with a Travelodge. This met all our requirements. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and it was a good location for visiting family. The staff were welcoming and dealt with any questions immediately. Being out of the city centre it is also quieter than some other hotels. We had the buffet breakfast on one of the mornings and it tasted fresh and we could see it was being regularly checked and replenished. My only slight issue was with the wifi. I paid for a 24 hour period from around 10am one morning. The following morning I tried a few times but could not get connected at all. As we were heading out early I did not raise this with staff but I'm sure it would have been resolved if I had. We will definitely stay here again.

We picked the Strathmore Travelodge in Dundee because it was cheaper than the city centre one and we don’t mind walking. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. Good sized car park, decent WiFi & Tv. Environmentally we liked that you could opt to get the drinks tray refreshed without having beds/ towels renewed. FYI it is a steep walk of 30 minutes up from the museums. Would be happy to stay here again. The Discovery Museum was the trip highlight and plenty of Vegan cafes/ restaurants. Particular favourites were Serendipities ( a social enterprise) and Rishis Indian restaurant.

An average budget hotel presented by Travelodge, a cheap couple of nights away after lockdown. The place is looking a little dated, for instance the low wall on entering the property has been demolished..a real eyesore! My main groan though is why Travelodge still charge for WIFI, and have done for years where the most other hotels provide this service free. Overall ok though.

Spent 3 nights here; My room was spotless and warm and had adequate tea/coffee making facilities; staff were really friendly and very helpful; I felt that anything I required or asked about was no trouble at all;
There are all types of shops/takeaways within walking distance which was very useful.
I would recommend this travel lodge to anyone visiting Dundee or surrounding area.
Thank you to all staff for making my visit a pleasant and restful one. 😊

It costs £20 extra to bring a dog with you. I don't know what the situation is regarding breakfast with a dog.
