I needed a 4 hour sleep between late travel and an early start so booked ahead for thirty quid. On arrival after midnight I got told I was at the wrong one of Travelodge me and despite being nearly empty it would cost me another £25 or if need to talk a mile and a half to the one I’d booked. I get the mistake was at my end, but it nearly doubled the price of the booking and the website could have been clearer about having more than one DUNDEE location. It took 20 minutes to sort out which didn’t add to the pleasure, but it must be said this was due to a terrible procedure and not the help of a very nice member or staff called Mustapha who couldn’t not have been kinder or had more empathy - a nice man who made the review get a 4 rather than the two stars this deserved. Apparently it happens a lot so it feels like they’re benefitting From their own poor website clarity.
Poor HQ people, really nice hard working man who walked the corridors to find me an ironing board and helped the booking - thanks Mustapha.

If you’re looking for a quality, no frills place to stay for a night or two I would highly recommend Travelodge Dundee Central. The staff was kind and helpful when checking in. The person at the receptionist desk even recommended I book online rather than in person at the desk as it was about 6 quid cheaper. I was quite impressed that the room would have fit 4 people for only £29.

The room was clean and had all of the essentials. The shower had such good water pressure it was almost too strong. I felt very safe at the hotel which was essential for me because I was traveling alone. Check out wasn’t until noon which is later than most hotels. I was also able to leave a suite case at the reception desk while I explored the city during the day making my trip more enjoyable.

Overall I had a great experience and the hotel was exactly what I wanted for an inexpensive one night stay in Dundee.

We were taking part in the Dundee Kiltwalk event and had planned to get the train up and stay close by, unfortunately rail strikes meant we no longer could do that so we drove. Parking was easy and seemed to be a lot of spaces so that was good, just had to add our registration on the Ipad at the front desk.

The room was clean and had all the items stated in the room description. The bathroom was the same clean and functional. The hotel did look like it could do with a bit of a spruce up but still clean.

The hotel does say that due to city centre location there may be some noise, unfortunately that was worse than expected sounded like we were right outside a nightclub and a race track. When that was quiet then it sounded like bottled clinking from outside the door, turned out to be the maid service we think and there trolleys moving about.

Bed was fairly comfortable and the room was fine for temperature with a window that could be opened if needed for some ventilation, although i think that would have made the noise a fair bit worse.

Only really spoke to the check in person, so can't say much about the staff but they were friendly and passed on the information needed.

Stayed here for a weekend to attend a convention in Dundee. The one staff member we saw all weekend was very pleasant and checking in and out was very easy as we had pre-paid. We asked for some extra towels and an ironing board straight away and these were provided easily so pleased with that. However, the carpets in the room had several odd stains, as did the pillows. The duvet covers had some rips in them that we could see, and the beds themselves felt like they were as solid as bricks. Not comfortable at all. We didn’t have much trouble with noise inside the hotel but the Travelodge is located near some nightclubs which meant we did have quite a lot of noise coming from the outside, made worse by the fact we had to have the window cracked open as the room was so stuffy. I appreciate that the Travelodge is a budget hotel brand but we paid a decent amount of money for a room that comes with a poor quality bed, no extras and no wifi. £200+ for a family room for the weekend and it really did not feel worth it.

Upon arrival the hotel had straightforward, easy parking located at the back of the hotel.
Our room was mostly clean, however we found 2 finger nails on the carpet and body hairs in the shower. The towels were rather thin and could do with updating.
The bedcover was on sideways, with the envelope pocket at the side rather than the bottom. The bed frame was squeeking from just sitting on it and made noise each time we rolled over during the night.
Our room was located at the back on looking the carpark so atleast we could see our car!
The seaguls kept us awake most of the night and were extremely loud from 5am onwards especially! On top of this people were outside in the car park at all hours shouting and generally being loud this happened early hours of the morning 3 nights in a row! Along with various delivery vehicles. The window was shut, but the noise still came through.
People in the corridor were not quiet and you could hear voices and banging doors a lot. The 24 hour gym under the the hotel ensured there was a steady flow of people around at all times.
The hair dryer we got from reception had to be constantly held with the button pressed to get it to power on and was not very powerful or warm.
Overall the location was good with a short walk to takeaways, bars, restaurants, shops and the shopping centre. The museum was walkable too, if you don't mind walking.
Needless to say I wouldn't stay here again.
Ask for a room at the front of the hotel.

Have stayed in Dundee travelodge before and thought it was fine so booked one night as it was a good price. Bathroom stank of stale urine, it smelt like a man’s public toilet! So asked to change room - was told they could ‘spray’ it to make it better! Eh no! Eventually they did change our room and second room was fine but have learned our lesson and won’t stay here again. Would rather pay a bit more next time & get a decent hotel.

Very unclean rooms and then when we asked for rooms to cleaned Covid was used as a excuse, truth was they reduced the staff members and only cleaned rooms on check out
We stayed 14 nights and prepaid other wife definitely I would have gone sleepers which is far far far better hotel.
And to top my stay I received 4 parking tickets when for parking in the hotel car park. When I called the hotel and expressed my displeasure Emmett the duty manager put the phone down on me
All in all worst experience at this travel lodge and even the customer service will not reply terrible terrible service
As I said sleepers is the same price and much better hotel
Or Garden inn for a little more but stay away from travel lodge

We travelled down to stay in Dundee for a night and had a family room booked. It ended up being just me and one of my young sons so the room was more than adequate for the two of us.

I will start by saying my son was delighted but he’s 7. Beds were comfy but duvet cover had a tear along the lining. The room looks aged but I do understand that until things pick up then renovations wouldn’t be happening.

My main issue was the bathroom. The water in the toilet ran all night. There was also a horrific smell coming from the drains. Keeping the door closed held it back but using the toilet wasn’t the nicest. On checkout we tried to tell someone but there was no one around. Let’s hope housekeeping pass it on so the next guest doesn’t need to smell it.
