Dreadful place, no-one to check in with, room cold dark and dingy, wifi did not work, two teabags only for a 2 night stay, only one thin cheap pillow on bed, keys did not work properly, three or four attempts needed, had to stand for 5 minutes flicking the kettle back on as it kept switching itself off. I run...

Booked room for a client as part of the rugby weekend. Greeted with an open front door with tumbleweed coming down the steps. After searching the place on one home. No manager in the managers office, not even Basil Fawlty or the major. A dead pigeon wound have been something. Then found too telephone numbers on the wall. Called the...

Greeted by a locked door and no one around to answer it. when someone did answer they looked more confused than we were.. Didn't ask for a name, didn't check us in. Spent 45 minutes setting the room up- no cleaning just new bedding (at 4:30pm when last check in is 5pm) no hot water to be found- plenty of...

I originally wrote a long rant but had a few days to calm down so I'll put it into bullet points.  Room smelled of 100 cigarettes.  No hot water.  Shower not working, even with cold water.  No bulbs in most of the light holders, so we had to leave the bathroom door open in order to see. No heating, it...

Web site stated parking but only room for two cars. It is handy for Murrayfield but not many other plus points. Our main door key only intermittently worked - We reported this about 13:00 and although the staff person found their back up key only intermittently also, they obviously did nothing about it. This resulted in people ringing the bell...

On arrival, there was no-one there to check us in. After a couple of minutes looking, we found our key in an envelope marked for our attention in a small box. Despite having our number, no-one from the establishment rang to mention this. We got into the room which was fine. However, there were no towels. When we rang one...

I booked in for a friday night as i had my works Christmas night out in Edinburgh. I booked quite late and it was one of the cheapest going. I was only really looking for somewhere to get ready and fall asleep so i didn't need anything special. It cost me £37 for the night which is cheap for Edinburgh....

We booked 20 mins before we arrived, which was really handy. There wasn't anyone to greet us, but it did say that check in was before 5 and we checked in at 543, so we couldn't moan. We followed the instructions and called the number to come and let us in/password for key. They left us out there for a...

We had a twin room for an overnight stay. Nobody really there to book us in or bell to ring for assistance, we were lucky that a man can up. He was a nice man and carried our bags to the room. It looks like an effort is being made to improve/update the guesthouse, I would suggest they still have...

I stayed there myself when my husband was in a nearby hospital. After 3 nights I had yet to see anyone with any responsibilty for the Guest House; my heart went out to a Chinese family who had just arrived as I was leaving one afternoon and they had to call a mobile number from a selection of 3 on...
