No other hotel is more conveniently located near the Royal Mile than Fraser Suites. Walk outside the main door, turn left and walk a short distance (30 meters) and you're on the royal mile by St. Giles. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to everything you'll need. The room we had was comfortable, clean, well appointed and...

Our first stay here, first trip to Edinburgh. I have to say the hotel is great, but the front desk staff WOMEN are horrible. Very rude, don't seem to care about the guests that stay here. We arrived very early, due to the flight from the US. We knew we probably wouldn't get a room right away, but had hopes....

Why does anyone stay anywhere else in Edinburgh? Fraser suites are just above Waverley station, bang in the centre of Edinburgh. They are extremely comfortable and reasonably priced. This is our second visit to Fraser Suites and I can't imagine staying anywhere else next time we come up.

Great location right off the Royal Mile. Easily walked all over town from this location. The Castle was right up the street, close to restaurants and shops. Stayed in the Quaich Suite, which had ornate bed and kitchen amenities (we didn't need except for the fridge) Nice view of the city from our room, and breakfast buffet was fine. Coffee...

1st ever stay with this group - and it won't be the last. For the price, (and the location, for this city), no one else could touch it. Absolutely stunning. I genuinely don't know what to say, because I am so delights and it would sound false,my. Was being too honest. You should try it out. Perfect location in the...

I wanted to share some of Scotland with my son that was visiting and wished to include some whisky tastings and take in the culture and scenery as we went. Our trip started with 2 nights in Edinburgh at Fraser Suites. Arrived by train from London and the hotel was situated within 10 minutes easy walk. Pleasant welcome on arrival...

Stayed here for 2 nights on a Six Nations weekend, and was very impressed. Check in is 15.00hrs but we arrived early (approx 13.00) and our room was ready for us. Upgraded from a Classic Deluxe to The Observatory Suite (408). I think that 408 is the only one with an outside balcony. The room was excellent, (previous reviews have...

We had room 615 in the Fraser. One of the best views in Edinburgh! The staff is incredibly friendly. Every evening a staff member named Alfonzo was there to greet us, he was a wonderful person who made our stay even better! If in Edinburgh, definitely stay at the Fraser!

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
