We stayed 3 nights in Mingalarion March 17. The place is perfectly located, at a walk le distance from city centre. Scottish breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Once you think at using the electric blanket, the freezing nights are just normal nights. We were staying in room 4. Room is of good size and clean. Ensuite bathroom is rather tiny...

Chris and Marcysia were lovely, gracious and quite genuine hosts. My mother and I enjoyed our stay here. Ideally located near town centre, clean sheets, beautiful house, powerful shower and very delicious hot buffet breakfast - what more can you ask for! Chris was extremely helpful and gave us a thorough induction and even printed our boarding passes and even...

Lovely guesthouse, we had a very large comfortable room. Chris was very informative about Edinburgh, about where to go and how to get there which was very helpful. Very enjoyable filling breakfast cooked beautifully. Very good value for money, would definitely go back to The Mingalar when next in Edinburgh

slightly dated accomodation and older style shower room but comfortable bed and very conveniently situated, a short walk from the city centre and tram lines. Good breakfast in the morning. plenty if information provided by the hosts and leaflets in the hallway.

We stayed here for two nights in Feb and I guess it taught me a lesson about not relying too much on TripAdvisor. To describe this hotel as cosy is bizarre. It is a lovely property in a good location but the interior and rooms are very dated. The rooms have odd bathroom units which have been fitted, not proper...

I had a very happy stay, Chris is a fount of knowledge giving very realistic advice on walking around the city. Breakfast each day was delicious and served with by a very friendly young lady whose name I'm ashamed to say I've forgotten, sorry. Everywhere we went we found helpful, friendly people. Will be back!

the owner welcomed us very politely and explained how to enjoy the staying (bus, location, map, timetable) and how to use all utilities. Breakfast was very neatly settled everyday, very clean. Only seven mins to supermarket, the bus stop from Edinburgh station was right in front of the house. Would love to stay again. Thank you!

Great breakfast at a lovely guesthouse. Clive, Chris and Myintsu are all lovely and welcoming people. Though the guesthouse is located at a bit of a distance from the centre, the magnificent Edwardian style place does make up for it. The Burmese statuettes and paintings are also very pretty. The lack of reception does make it hard for those without...

I unfortunately stayed only one night but it was an easy walk (or bus ride) to anything you might want to experience in Edinburgh, New and Old Town. The room had everything you could need, it was clean and had a lovely view. The included breakfast was delicious, served in a quaint dining area with access to the outside to...
