There are very few places which manage to maintain a high standard over a number years; The Bonham is one of the few. Again, we took advantage of the 'January deal' - brilliant value for money considering the type of hotel. We were offered an...More
OK I've wanted to spend Hogmanay in Scotland for a while. Decided as the last minute to book the trip and booked The Bonham because it was the very last hotel that would cost me under $1000 to stay at for 3 nights. What a...More
The Bonham is well situated in the New Town, and the car park is a real advantage in this area. Our room on the second floor had a high ceiling and huge windows with a fabulous view. It was slightly chilly when we arrived as...More
We stayed for the Hogmanay package, 30th Dec - 1st Jan including gala dinner on 30th and three course dinner on 31st. We had a superior room on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel, which was fantastic, with a great view. Lovely...More
We stayed at the Bonham for 3 nights in between Christmas and New Year. Perfect location only a 10 minute stroll to Princes Street.
Staff were very friendly and polite. Breakfast was ok - nothing overly special, but the evening food was brilliant.

Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along
the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
