This hotel whose facade resembles a castle is thoroughly modernized with well appointed decent size rooms with good size bathrooms and beautiful fixtures. It's right in the center of the action and just a 10 minute uphill walk from the Edinburgh Castle. The area is full of restaurants and pubs which are open till early morning. Street facing rooms can...

We visited the Radisson Blu this weekend with 2 other couples for a 50th Birthday celebration. From the minute we walked through the doors, we were welcomed by friendly but professional staff who couldn't do more for you! Honestly, nothing was too much trouble. We had the most fantastic room service and wonderful rooms on the Business Class floor. The...

This was our second stay here as we really enjoyed our last visit here four years ago. The hotel location is great, the staff were welcoming and we took advantage of an upgrade from a standard room to a superior room (for just £15) which boasted magnificent views up to Arthur’s Seat and across to Bass Rock. The pool and...

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We had an upgraded room - good decision. The rooms was spacious and very clean and we got a...

We stayed here for several nights in a king room that was very spacious and comfortable. One of the best hotels we stayed at on our U.K. trip. The hotel was central to attractions, shopping, and restaurants. We booked the bed and breakfast deal and the variety of breakfast options was amazing. Definitely recommend this hotel.

We recently spent four nights at the Radisson Blu Edinburgh and were very impressed with the location, service and facilities. The hotel staff were exceptional in their attention to detail and customer service. Great base for exploring the Castle, Holyrood House, Princes Street and Royal Mile. The restaurant food was superb, so we ate there each evening. What more could...

We booked a family room which provided good space, a fridge with complimentary water and tea, coffee and hot chocolate (which our son appreciated). The lady in reservations was very helpful and her being so helpful meant we confirmed our booking. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The concierge was excellent and informative. We were sorry not to be...

Our rating would be 'good' a solid 3.5 out of 5 but Trip Advisor does not allow for this. We stayed for one night to celebrate my wife's birthday. Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
