Slow check in and even slower check out. We were given door keys that didn't work as the locks had just been changed so we had to go back to reception and queue again to get them changed. The room was very comfortable and clean but we had the view of a car park. Breakfast was quite good but we...

Stayed a night on business in April, the hotel sits near the water and it has a great feel inside. The rooms are spacious and had good food and drinks in the bar which served food till 10pm which was handy staying late on business. Will stay again!

Stayed an overnight here as we were dining out at the Kitchen (a short walk away). The room was spacious and the staff friendly. Had afternoon tea that was delicious. The breakfast was plentiful and had a good selection (go for the fresh waffles and bacon!) We will be back to stay here again.

I stayed there for two nights, to take part in the introduction of Bivrost products in the UK market. Small, but modern room with fancy shampoo and shower gel. Excellent breakfast and bar, friendly and polite staff all over, reasonable costs.

Thank you Katerina in reception for making us so welcome and looking after us - this makes such a difference. Efcharistó. Breakfast was lovely and the service was great and the tea tasted like tea - not very often this happens in a hotel.

The hotel is ideally located to explore Edinburgh and all its surroundings areas. The room was in good condition but perhaps needed a spruce up. The lift was out of order for a short time and finding the stairs to our room on the 2nd floor was not easy. Overall however the staff were very friendly and good when asked...

Malmaison is superbly located to explore the Leith area, the hotel is lovely and the staff couldn't do more. The room itself, a Club room, was excellent but the bathroom was a little tired and in need of a freshen up. Wouldn't have any hesitation in returning.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's the mother of all Malmaison's. The former house of ill-repute now has a reputation that's second to none, and it's also just a short taxi ride away from Waverley Station. Malmaison Edinburgh bides at Leith (as they say up here), just a stone's throw from the Royal Yacht Britannia, but offering far more funky luxury. Yes, when you want exciting hotels in Edinburgh, this is the King, not the castle. Our Edinburgh hotel puts you close to all of Edinburgh's cobbled splendours, incredible shopping and famous galleries. Then it's back to Mal for Scots dining with a twist, a fine selection of single malts and mojitos in the bar and then back to the slinkiest and most spectacular rooms in the Scots capital. ... more   less
