We had a 2 night stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary which the hotel acknowledged by giving us a complimentary upgrade to a larger room on third floor, they also left a little card for us too. The room and bathroom were very spacious our room was called the discovery room and the decor represented a nautical theme...

Couldn't ask for better (apart from the fire alarm at 8:00) :-) It felt like we were one of only a few guests in the hotel (though we saw this wasn't the case when the fire alarm went off). Thank you to all the staff (including the cleaners) for helping us create great memories. Your beds are exceedingly comfortable, rooms...

We stayed for six nights; I wanted a place that felt like home and was in a safe neighbourhood. We payed the premium for a nicer room and in return got a top floor room with a large bed, a separate desk area, a big bathroom and a nice morning view of New Town. The room was decorated with large...

It's a nice, cozy and friendly hotel away from the bustle. Rooms are (small but) okay and bathroom is spacious and very clean. Located in residential area, it's very peaceful and cozy. Front office staff is non-intrusive and friendly and so is that super-polite gentlemen in the breakfast room. Only negatives are the following: 1. Wardrobe and storage space could...

Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Staff and rooms very good. Meals in hotel excellent. Easy to get into central Edinburgh by walking, but taxis are cheap and reliable. Would definitely go there again, and can't wait to go there.

It's quite close to the city center in a small and silent street. Large rooms and welcoming staff. The common spaces are really good. The only minus is about the bathroom. separate cold and hot water is simply out of time!

Channings in Edinburgh is an informal, relaxed hotel with a very friendly approach. It occupies five Edwardian townhouses in Stockbridge, one of Edinburgh's most popular 'urban villages'. Channings is a wonderfully quirky property which feels a bit like a Scottish country home, full of charming Victorian paintings, prints, books, furniture and memorabilia reflecting the history of previous tenant Sir Ernest Shackleton. ... more   less
