Arrived for a two night weekend stay. Great hotel, clean and very comfortable. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast excellent , great choice and all cooked freshly. Afternoon tea was included. It was my only criticism of this place. Not the best.

Only one night stay at this hotel which is coveniently located near Haymarket train station and a short walk to Princes Street. Can't fault it, room cosy, clean and well equipped. We were there on a deal which included afternoon tea and prosecco. So this was average, but the breakfast the next morning more than made up for any shortcomings....

Room was very clean, beds comfy! 10 minute walk from Edinburgh centre, breakfast at this hotel is amazing! Enjoyed my stay. Only issue I had was with the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were a bit crusty as though they'd been left out over night but overall an amazing hotel and would definitely recommend!

I've stayed at the brooks hotel twice now. It's a great price for being so close to the centre of town! Much nicer than staying in a chain hotel as it has more character and is well decorated. We went for a mid week deal which was a double room, breakfast, afternoon tea, a bottle of prosecco and a late...

Stayed at Brooks after getting a groupon deal for 2 nights, including breakfast, prosecco and afternoon tea. Room was clean, tidy and plenty of room. Lovely bathroom - all facilities excellent. Towels changed on second day. Prosecco bought straight up to us on request on our first night. Breakfast is top notch, cooked and served promptly. Afternoon tea - sandwiches...

We received a voucher for an overnight stay with breakfast, late checkout, afternoon tea and a bottle of prosecco. We arrived just after 2pm which was the check in time. We were given the keys to our room on the second floor and when we arrived they hadn't finished cleaning. We returned to reception to advise and requested that we...

Wonderful hotel, very good area (about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the royal mile) excellent decor and staff, great breakfast, small yet charming room and a beautiful lounge area with fire for a delicious afternoon tea, I couldn't fault it all!

Hotel was lovely and really nicely decorated! Staff where lovely apart from one of the ladies on reception who was an absolute misery. She was the only problem that changed our opinion of the hotel. The bathroom was a little dusty and parts slightly rusty but we loved the shower. The bed was really comfortable and I am currently trying...

Stayed here for a night with a wowcher deal. We had to pay an extra £12 to use the car park. The deal included an overnight stay with afternoon tea, a bottle of prosecco and breakfast. The hotel staff were lovely, all very polite and friendly. The afternoon tea was nice but the bread could have been a bit fresher....

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
