Second time at 10 Clarendon. Hospitable, clean, modern amenities just over the Dean Bridge from New Town attractions, 15 min. walk (maximum) to Princes St. and access to Old Town, 1/2 walk to Waverley or Haymarket train stations. Good bus connections, too, right outside the door or up the street, including Airport Tram stop. Away from hurly-burly but easy stroll...

Had a very wonderful stay in the Oxford apartment with my husband and our adult daughter. The apartment was clean and comfortable for 3 adults and the location ideal. The owner Billy was very nice and takes great care of his property.

A short walk down the hill to Stockbridge or 10 minutes across Dean Bridge for Princes Street. The apartment was great, well apportioned, plenty of hot water, fresh milk, clean and comfortable. Our host was helpful and noninvasive. Highly recommended, hope to be back soon.

I stayed here with friends for a long weekend for the six nations and we found it to be the perfect base from which to explore Edinburgh. The location is excellent with the city centre only being a short walk away. The apartment building is stunning with the apartment itself being beautifully designed and well equipped. The kitchen comes with...

We stayed here at the end of November. It was the ideal base for us - a short, pleasant walk over the Dean Bridge takes you right into the heart of the city centre. There is also an abundance of restaurants and cafes en route. The apartment is easy to find if you are driving and the on-street parking is...

Perfectly located for exploring Edinburgh on foot with just a 10 minute walk to Princes Street and 25 minutes to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. The apartment was very nicely decorated and very clean with kitchen utilities for cooking if you want that. A good double bed in the bedroom and a comfortable sleeping couch in the living room....

My family and I stayed here for 6 nights during our recent trip to Edinburgh, August-September. This one of the best decision I had made in regards to vacation accommodation. The Owner Bill was very accommodating and Friendly. When we arrived Bill gave us the tour and noticed that there were complimentary breakfast cereals and milk, this is great since...

What a gem! A lovely Georgian apartment-newly renovated and spotless. The decor was very nice and comfortable. The updated kitchen gave us the option to eat in or dine out. Great location--we walked everywhere,

Our week-long stay at 10 Clarendon Crescent was absolutely carefree, with clean, well-appointed apartment; convenient, quiet New Town location; and helpful, welcoming owner. Recommended for first time and experienced visitors to Edinburgh.

We selected this apartment based largely on the almost unanimous favorable reviews - and we weren't disappointed. Billy McLellan runs a great operation. Our apartment was the Belgrave, on the first (U.S. 2nd) floor. Good thing it wasn't higher because there is no elevator and getting our luggage up the stairs was a workout. Free wifi and good location. About...

Staying in Stockbridge & Dean Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Stockbridge & Dean Village
Just downhill of New Town and attractively straddling a river near the elegant Royal Botanic Garden, it’s small wonder that Stockbridge became one of the city’s first hip neighbourhoods. It’s now one of Edinburgh’s most desirable, though many bohemian touches have fallen away as its residents have matured and the area has gentrified. Some second-hand shops cling on, but mostly residents display refined tastes in basement bistros, gastropubs, coffee and antique shops, boutiques and delis and at the Sunday farmers' market. A pleasant ten-minute walk away, along a leafy riverside path beside the gurgling Water of Leith, lies Dean Village. This sleepy neighborhood of medieval half-timbered houses still retains much of the village feel it had when watermills plied their trade here. Beyond, the wooded riverside path feels even more remote as it climbs to the sculpture gardens of the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
