I arrived at midnight and had when I contacted the owner this was no problem. The room and bathroom were very clear and I had everything I needed. When I arrived downstairs in the morning I was greeted kindly by the owner who then prepared me a delicious breakfast. If I ever need to go to Edinburgh again I definitely... More

We stayed at Cruachan Guest House for 6 nights and had a wonderful time. The room was very warm, comfortable and clean with a homely atmosphere and an excellent en-suite. Our host Graham was so friendly and obliging and the breakfast, which he prepared himself, was very enjoyable (Great Haggis)! Convenient bus stops on either end of the road for... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time. Old charming place with fireplace in the room and a "home feeling". Breakfast was great and personally made by the owner. 10 - 15 min walk to the city. Bit noisy from the road outside. Very helpful owner!

Last week my friend and I went away for a weekend trip to Edinburgh. Wasn't sure what to expect but after staying I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed this B&B! The room we had was clean and warm. Wifi was brilliant - fast and could easily stream films! Breakfast both mornings was spot on! (Great scrambled eggs!) Finally, Graham... More

Arrived at midnight and were let in by the caretaker after phoning, initial impression the room was clean and although not huge, it seemed to have what we needed. The bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows were old and lumpy, but the first breakfast was lovely so we thought it was fine for what it was. However, the following... More

We had problems with our original booking in another property and ended up here as it was the only place in our budget during th Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I was worried as the reviews by previous guests were mixed. We stayed in room 4, a family room en-suite. My fears were completely unfounded. The room was large, full of light... More

We recently stayed at the Cruachan Guest House and found it to be quite disgusting ! It is old ...shabby and very neglected. In places it was dirty. The owner was friendly at breakfast time but after that you never see him. There is no effort made to welcome guests or make them feel comfortable. There is no attention to... More

This place is disgusting. The linens were dirty, the bed was terrible, and the whole interior needs to be redone. If you don't mind substandard accommodations this is the place for you. I had to buy my wife a blanket because she couldn't get under the covers.
