Parking was off street ? Was safe. Nice people but thought it was expensive but then Edinburgh is pricy. Good breakfast. Clean room. Good wifi. We ate in to local pubs. We took a taxi into town. £8.00 . So a little out of town. The toilet and shower room are very cramped. Rooms at the back are quiet.

This is the second time I have stayed here in the last 14 months. David and Margaret are great hosts, and I found the place to be clean and quiet. I am a golfer, so you cannot get much closer to the Prestonfield Golf Course. Plus, the bus stops right in front of the place if you want to go... More

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Gifford House. It was a lovely experience and everything was excellent. Margaret and David could not have been more hospitable. The room and breakfasts were both top-notch.

We stayed at Gifford House for 3 nights during the CWG and the start of the Edinburgh Festival. Margaret and David are the most charming and helpful hosts who are always willing to offer advice on anything relating to your visit to Edinburgh (or any part of Scotland for that matter). The rooms are well appointed and the establishment is... More

We were greeted by the friendly host Margaret. She upgraded our room to a family room which was very spacious. It had 1 Queen & 2 twin beds overlooking the front of the house. Bathroom was very modern & had a box with bathroom supplies (scissors, cotton balls , q-tips, etc.) was even provided which I had never seen in... More

After a disappointing experience checking into a nearby B&B that we booked online the night before, we stumbled upon the Gifford House, with nowhere to stay for the weekend, and asked if they had any availability. David and Margaret, the owners, took us in and gave us the perfect room at an extremely reasonable price. We absolutely loved the Gifford... More

Loved this B&B in Edinburgh. Our room overlooked Arthur's Seat. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Breakfast was wonderful with cold and hot choices. Margaret and David worked around everyone's schedule when serving breafast. There are stairs so be aware of this with luggage. The bus stops very close!

Just spent 4 nights at Gifford House and we can't recommend highly enough.A warm welcome from Margaret, a lovely, spotless room with great facilities (incl. DAB radio & wi-fi) and a wonderful view. At breakfast a great choice is on offer and nothing is too much trouble for David. A short 10 minute walk gets you to the nearest shops... More
