This place was very central to most things the local shopping places were just a corner away and the night life was only a few minutes away in taxi. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Only disappointment was the shower room flooded but was seen to right away. Great services. Would definitely return.

We visit every year at xmas and summer and enjoyed every time but this visit was caos. Not the normal bubbly lady on the desk, no smiles from the staff and not really that welcoming. We waited over 20 minutes to check in on the Friday night due to 2ladies not booking correct hotel. The only advantage was we got...

Booked a family room - was surprised to see how big it was and we can keep the room warm when we needed to as there is an electric heater in the room. The bed was super comfy. The only hiccups were a stain on one of the pillows and the toilet handle was broken that someone from our group...

Right in the city centre just behind prince's street near the monument. I paid £52 on a Tuesday night for a family room. Good value for a short stay. Personally I found the room too cold and the bathroom had a smell but overall it was a good place to stay, there was some noise as you would expect in...

Stayed for one night on a Wednesday.Very good location. Not actually on Princes Street but set one street back.As with other recent reviews, there is construction work going on outside, which makes it very difficult at night, being very dark and road up,but hopefully this will be only short term. The room was very large with good shower.A lot of noise at night from outside...

Great value for money, really clean, great area only problem would be the noise of construction from 7am till 10pm but apart from that staff are friendly, shower was great. Access to property was difficult due to construction right outside hotel doors

Excellent location. In the heart of the city, 2 mins to train station, bus station, tram stop. Clean rooms, friendly staff - Entrance is bit iffy, but other than that, this place ticks all boxes. Stayed November 2016

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
