Perfectly situated for all of Edinburgh's attractions and transport links. Clean and well presented the only thing letting the hotel down is a lack of on-site parking. Parking is via NCP/Pay and display a 5-10min walk away and at £18.50/24hrs in the 'Omni' Centre isn't particularly cheap - no worse than other capital cities though I suppose.

Great location in the heart of Edinburgh. Great value. Spacious and clean rooms with a very powerful shower which was great. Secure entry as you had to use your room key. Quiet considering it is in the city center Raining ...... borrowed an umbrella from reception..

We visited during the October week with my children, we were only staying for one night. Good sized family room and city view. Was a bit awkward to find as we thought it said it was on Princes St. But it is off it and down a lane. Would recommend for a cheap overnight stay.

Ideally located in the city centre,a 2 minute walk from Waverley station and a street up from Princes Street (the main high street for shops) staff are very friendly, room was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced (even as a last minute booking) There are no restaurant facilities here but you can pre-book a breakfast box

Great location, only downside was the hair I found in the bathroom floor of our room and how stuffy it felt but that's just me. Comfy bed, great location, and really nice staff (24 hour reception was a plus). In terms of value for money, you can't go wrong unless you're one of those pple who wants an amazing skyline...

Receptionist was excellent on arrival, it was pouring with rain and she immediately got us towels to dry off. Despite us arriving early she ensured there was a room ready so we could change. The location was perfect, very close to train station and all amenities. The only complaint was the building works outside which we really noisy from early...

Helpful friendly staff especially Anne, who printed off our voucher for the Dungeons for us and helped with my requests by telephone the day before arrival. Room was clean and comfortable. No noise at all from outside. Beautiful view of Edinburgh castle. Problem with the shower was fixed straight away. Stayed here alot brilliant location.

Staying in Princes Street and Gardens

Neighbourhood Profile
Princes Street and Gardens
Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street is only half one, since buildings only line one side. But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views are from Princes Street as a result. From here you look onto expansive and decorative public gardens beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look the other way, as they’re concerned with chain store shopping or catching the tram or a train at main train station Waverley. But it’s not all utility here; the Scottish National Gallery rewards purposeless wandering, and December’s huge winter market in the gardens begins a season of revelry which ends with Hogmanay, Britain’s largest New Year’s street party.
