Very nice place, in a strategico position, right in the center! Downstairs a nice pub where to go for your girato night out! Comfortable and clean rooms with quite a good view from the windows. 100% recommended

Very clean and a good location for walking around in Edinburgh. We were traveling by train and it was a short walk from Waverly. Staff friendly and helpful with helping us find a tour in town. Very clean room.

To start on the positives, the hotel is very well located, just a couple of streets back from Princes Street (Castle End) and is surrounded by bars and restaurants ranging from Wetherspoons, to high end cocktail bars so you will never be short of places to go. The hotel was also very clean and had a large bathroom (shared) for...

Very clean and very helpful staff on arrival. Room wasn't noisy at all despite location and style of property. Only issue is number of stairs leading up to hotel as my friend had a very large case to contend with. Would be perfect for a short break.

Everything was good except there is no a provided locker for leaving luggage after we checked-out. Good location, Good staff, Good price, Good shower room and toilet, only one problem was we have to find a place to leave our luggage after checking out.

Stayed here for one night while doing some research in Edinburgh libraries. The double room was small, but absolutely fine for a lone traveller like me. Everything was lovely and clean; the water pressure in the shower was great; the TV, hairdryer, and tea- and coffee-making facilities were all very much appreciated. This guest house is very central, yet far...

Very welcoming and Valerie very helpful. Stairs are a challenge but room at the top quirky with character and views over Edinburgh calming and peaceful. Good location too for foodies and those looking for good retail therapy. Wood recommend.

Great location, nice room with a firm comfy bed. Quite a few stairs to enter the guest house, but I was travelling light so didn't have a problem with that. When I was shown to my room, I was puzzled when the words "if you choose to have a shower......." were used. Why would I not want to? This became...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
