Very straightforward , Tod was flexible and accommodating regarding my arrival. The room was spotless and pretty. It was also quiet . It was good to be able to make tea and I appreciated the biscuits. Would certainly stay here again.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, warm and cost. Good WiFi signal throughout stay and nice and quiet despite being so central. I stayed midweek to minimise commuting so could comment on this at peak times. Very central for shopping, offices, food etc

Great location at a reasonable cost with a great host. Valarie was very helpful and accommodating. Only downside was the noisy neighbours in the room next door. The doors don't offer a lot of sound protection so take some earplugs!

Booking was straight forward. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who was very helpful, we couldn't check in till 3pm but we're allowed to leave our suitcases which were in our room for us when we came back later. Our room was immaculate with beautiful linen on the beds all crisp and gleaming white. Loved the...

Good location in centre of Edinburgh with great amenities around. Very clean and welcoming. Not for faint hearted as 5 sets of steps before main part of townhouse. Option for later departure would have been preferred. 10am slightly early.

This is an ideal hotel for a brief stop in the city. The room is basic, comfortable and convenient and in a beautiful location - it's easy to get anywhere in Edinburgh by just walking out of the front door. There is no parking provided by this hotel, and there are no dining facilities - but there are plenty of...

Amazing location, close to all the main streets and 5 min from airport bus. There's no elevator and a lot of stairs so make sure your gf pack her bags lightly. Room is clean and nice, though the shower can be difficult to handle.

We came here for the second time because we really like the location and the friendly welcome we get every time we come to stay. The rooms are clean and very cosy and welcoming. We would recommend the Edinburgh townhouse.

The townhouse was clean and easily accessible. Upon our arrival we were met and welcomed. The townhouse isn't in the most central location for touristy thighs however it is close to shopping areas and bars and restaurants. The towels are not replaced daily which was something I would have liked. Free wifi provided. Rooms cleaned daily.

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
