Comfortable place located in the "new" part of Edinburgh so you do have to do some walking to get to old town and most sites but the walk is not bad at all. And it's Edinburgh so walking around the town is easy and enjoyable. Check-in person was very nice and ready to share information. Bedroom was comfortable and clean.

Really lovely accommodation, fantastic location and a very warm welcome. We will definitely be back. Our room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast at the local restaurant was delicious.

Stayed there my time in Edinburgh and really would stay there again. Really nice and helpful owners, clean rooms and a perfect central location. The Old Town (Royal Mile), Edinburgh Castle, Dean Village, Haymarket, even Arthur Seat are in walking distance. A lot of drinking and dining options right before the door on George Street. And for all Rebus lovers...

This is a charming guesthouse, very well located to explore Edinburgh. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Nicely decorated, clean room (we had the ensuite twin) and friendly helpful staff. surprisingly quiet given the location. The only negative is all the steps - but they keep you fit!

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our stay at The Edinburgh Townhouse. The room was very compact to say the least. We'd booked a deluxe double room and my side of the bed didn't even have a bedside cabinet. All my things went on the floor. The dressing table/drawers had no mirror, the mirror on the wall ws too high to...

Nice and Clean place. Took some time to understand how the shower works to get warm water. Very Close to nice Pups, shops and restaurants. Short way to the buses and tram. Very quiet room. Friendly staff.

The town house is in a great location it's a short walk from Princes Street, rose Street and the castle. If you are going to the playhouse it's about a 10-15 minute walk. The town house is not luxury accommodation but it was clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff. The only downside is the stairs the reception is 2...

The location is good, 15 minutes walk to Edinburgh Waverley Station and the Old Town. The room is nice, although the toilet doesn't work really well in my room. The host is really nice. They offer luggage storage after 10:30 Am on the check-in day.

It is with great pleasure that I can respond to your very untruthful review of our house. Firstly it was no problem to allow your friend (not staying here) to come and go as he pleased, drinking tea and using our free Wifi, but it was how we found your room that was the initial problem for our housekeeper. She...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
