Chose here as we were going to a party in the Royal Mile - ideal for bus trip into town - bus stop less than a minute walk away. Space for a couple of cars which is a bonus. Owner not there when we got...More
With my booking early enough (Christmas) I've been lucky enough to get a perfect single room. For one night catching up with my scottish cousin we got a separate spare room for her trouble-free. I've been there three times already and will continue for sure.
The breakfast was excellent. . The staff and the owner were very friendly. You need to take a bus to the town center. Price was reasonable. For most of the guest houses, you need to walk up stairs. A bit hard if your room is...More
Just back from a couple of days in Edinburgh stayed in Strathallan guest house must say will definitely be back. The location, and Lothian bus service makes this an ideal base for exploring Edinburgh and the accomodation and hospitality of the hosts make this guest...More
The staff couldn't be friendlier - nothing too much trouble and happy to have a chat and giggle. The one issue we did have was resolved without bother. Decor could do with bit of update but Beautiful building and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful....More

I'm not certain, but I'm sure the management would work with you, especially if you paid in advance. Just make arrangements on where to leave the key. He was very accommodating in letting me leave my luggage early in the morning before my room was ready, so one would hope he would be as accommodating on a very early departure.

It takes about 30 minutes on the Airport Bus or the Tram from Edinburgh Airport to Princes Street in City Centre. Then a good 20 minute walk south of City Center or a 10-15 minute bus ride. Lothian Buses stop on the North Bridge (ask the driver if he stops on Minto Street). The bus stops very close to the Strathallan. The cross street just before the Strathallan is Salisbury Place. I have never driven from the airport and don't know how long it might take, but a possible route is the City of Edinburgh Bypass (A720) to Burdiehouse Road (A701). Exit and turn north. Or check GPS.
