We booked family room for me and 3 friend, Xmas treat to ourselves!. Lovely room very spacious and comfortable. We paid £80 for the room thinking no breakfast, but on arrival were told time for breakfast. Added bonus, lovely breakfast, very friendly, homlely and nothing any trouble. 25 mins from station but due to wet weather taxi. Recommended city taxis,...

We booked here the night before arriving, for a last minute trip, we chose Strathallan Guest House because it was close to the centre and it's very well served by public transportation. Because of our late booking there was a problem with it, but the owner solved it in a matter of minutes and gave us a very comfortable, very...

A very friendly, well ran and inviting guest house. The room was airy and comfortable, good shower and very decent bed. It's just a 20 minute walk or short bus ride into the town centre. The bus stop just nearby has buses going all over the city. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

Maybe not the best guest house in Scotland, but considering that we are in Edinburgh the quality/price ratio is not bad either. Not far form the old city, the castle is reachable in 10 minutes walking. Nice room, the bathroom a bit too small. Hearty Scottish breakfast.

I chose this location because I could walk to Princes St in 25 mins, but buses and taxis are plentiful if you prefer. I saw that car parking was available too. The reviews were good & I can truly say that I wasn't disappointed. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was spot on. We needed a triple room, and...

Lovely spacious room. Very friendly staff. The guest house also offers off-street parking which was ideal since we had a hire car but the guest house is so well situated that we didn't use the car while in Edinburgh :) Close to Royal Mile (5-10 minute walk), nightlife, restaurants and bus stops The breakfast is awesome. We really enjoyed our stay...

Nice clean traditionally decorated room, radiator was a plus. En-suite on the small side - though staying for one night it was all manageable. Plenty of parking to rear as well as the front. We were unsure of our arrival time but knew it would be late and Eamonn (owner) re-assured us a key would be left for us. All...

We were in room 7 (attic room) lovely sky light with great view - hotel facilities great. Lovely friendly staff and good breakfast. Perfect distance to the city. Will definitely stay again. Taxi to city between £3.50 - £6.00 depending on time and very easy to flag a taxi down outside.

We arrived fairly late at night and rang the mobile number on the door! With no hesitations Eamon gave us the door code and we could settle in for the night. After the long 8 hour journey, we decided we wanted food and the location of this place was perfect meaning we could walk a matter of 5 minutes and...
