We booked a Sunday night stay for a last minute treat, dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was quite small (Calvin Harris room) despite upgrading to a "Superior Double" with extra space.. There wasn't a separate sitting area which was disappointing, there was only a desk and one office chair. As we spent most of our time in the room,...

Stayed here 30th April and it was great. The bar and restaurant look stunning with all the photos of famous Scots which i could have looked at all day. All the staff were polite and helpful including the cleaners when passing them in the corridor. I would definately stay again. On a lighter note, we stayed in the Brian Cox...

What a fantastic little gem of a place this was. The Angel Share Hotel made our visit to Edinburgh an even better one. We didn't stay here (we definitely will on our next visit) but we stumbled across this little gem whilst looking for a place to eat. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to...

I stayed here over for a long weekend with my other half and had a fantastic stay. The rooms are lovely and we had a huge and comfy bed. The bathroom and shower were clean and the shower powerful. Shampoo and body wash are available. The only thing that niggled me was that there wasn't an extractor fan in the...

Great location for Princes Street. Great facilities. No parking but very close to the NCP. £10 food or drink discount for booking direct. Very efficient and friendly staff. Themed rooms make it stand out from other less friendly establishmemts.

Where do I start here?? When we arrived we had the nicest welcome from Jamie on reception who kindly upgraded us as we were too early for check in. We got to our room (Dougry Scott) and we couldnt have been happier with it. The bed was MASSIVE and very comfy, I would have happily slept all day on it....

Extremely small rooms. Not very clean. Ridiculous reception set-up. You have to walk through bar/restaurant to check-in. While having breakfast you sit in the restaurant/bar and it is also open to public and delivery men wandering through. Would never go back. Over-priced and dis-organised.

We are disappointed you never enjoyed your stay with us at the Angels Share, where we strive to offer comfortable rooms at a competitive price. Being a city centre boutique hotel, we do have some quirks to our hotel - which unfortunately weren't to your taste. Thank you for aking the time to offer your feeback, where the comments are...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
