Quiet place about 10-15 minutes' walk from the city centre. Only met one member of staff and s, but she was friendly. The place is quite run-down, and a ltttle damp, but my room was ok - small, with a tv, small desk, kettle and tea/coffee + a sink (the bathroom was not shared, but was outside the room. Ok...

I was in Castle Park Guest House in September 2016 to visit Edimburgh. The place is nice and located in a very good position for the bus stop and you can visit the city center in a 10 minutes walk. The bedroom was spacious and comfy but it could be cleaner, especially the bathroom. So I'd advice it for students...

My first instincts were walk straight back out....I wish I had! We arrived on Friday night, at the same time another guest was coming in, he looked homeless. The smell that hit us could only be described as damp, stale alcohol mixed with the aroma of nicotine and urine! The lady showed us to our room, (she was the only...

We stayed here for one night, it's in a great location for the city centre, however our room was dirty. The bathroom had hairs in the shower and was full of limescale. The table where we ate breakfast was scattered with crumbs before we sat down to eat, and whole place was just generally dusty and dirty.

First impressions were not great, entrance outside was untidy, hall was cramped, dark and not very inviting. The double room, en suite was a reasonable size, brightly decorated, the view from the bedroom window was unto a back unkept garden. The bathroom was adequate, shower was okay and shower gel and shampoo were provided. The towels smelled clean but were shabby....

The single room and the bathroom were clean, bathroom was big and modern, the single room was more old-fashioned, the heating worked fine. I had a view to the street, there was not a lot of traffic, especially just a few cars at night. I liked very much that you cold darken the room with curtains. About a 20-25 min...

You just get what you pay for, a bed for the night with a breakfast in the morning. This place was just as I was expecting, basic en suite room with an average cooked breakfast in the morning, got up in the morning had breakfast and out sightseeing all day, just used as a base for the night

“Very comfortable for a family of 3 in room 5. Never saw other rooms for more than 2 people. You can hear people on the street at night talking at times but it wasn't that loud. WI Fi worked great and room decorated very cozy.”

“Our room slept 3, faced the street and had a private bathroom. There is a pretty steep staircase to get to our room, but not bad at all. We never intended to spend any time in our hotel since we were always out and about in Edinburgh, so lack of a "common room" was not an issue.”

“Room 8 is a good room - has its share of stairs but it is one of the rooms with an ensuite washroom (WC).”
