The location is amazing - Alan and Norma have created a beautiful and comfy "home from home" The breakfast is really very good, with lots of choices. We especialy loved the home made gooseberry jam and marmalade as well as bread from the local bakery. The gardens are a delight with glorious views across the fields to St Andrews itself. We spent a fair bit of time just chilling, being entertained by the antics of Mr and Mrs Pheasant (named by one of the grandchildren "Elivis" and Priscilla") as they scrambled to feed on seeds in the garden. The decor is lovely with lots of quirky and interesting arts and crafts. A wonderful retreat but close to all the amenites and tourist spots around the East Neuk.

Home from home - it’s not really a B&B it’s so much more! You have a lovely super king size bed and an amazing lounge with splendid views towards St. Andrews Bay. Breakfast is delicious - anything you want is available upon request and there is plenty! Norma and Alan are delightful hosts. We have been back here every year for the last 6 years - love it

Immaculate accommodation set in beautiful gardens, with stunning unspoilt views across to the town and sea. Excellent location, peaceful and secluded yet just minutes away in the car from the town and the beach. Alan and Norma couldn’t be more helpful and provide a wonderful breakfast each day with locally sourced ingredients and even homemade jams. Would definitely recommend!

The cottage and the owners Alan And Nora were very welcoming. Alan and Nora were really informative about the local area and the best places to visit. The cottage it self first class homely, with all facilities excellent. The cottage it’s self excellent space the lounge well laid out with a view to garden and StAndrews to died for. Both bedroom and bathroom excellent. Nice touches a great selection of teas, coffees, water and biscuits provided. A high level of cleanliness and a super breakfast provided to your choice. All in all 10 out of 10 to Alan And Norma we will be back soon. Mike and Avril.

I have stayed here 3 times now, and every time I arrive here I love it more. It’s like my breath of fresh air place. I love the location and the hosts go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel at home. It is clean, peaceful with immaculately kept gardens that are delightful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Balmungo to all my family and friends.

A fantastic spot. Just outside town, set amongst fields with a view over St Andrews. Alan’s knowledge of the local golf courses was invaluable; and the breakfasts set us up for the day. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the residents lounge enjoyed the views to the City. 10 out of 10!

Approaching the cottage the first impression is of a tranquil secluded spot in line with the expectations the images prepared you for. The warm welcome from the charming couple is most sincere, you then begin to absorb the manicured grounds, the amazing view, the tasteful decor, the comfortable beds, it quickly becomes apparent that these people have invested their heart in this place. A great deal of privacy is offered, not to mention the helpful advice and tips on local attractions. The breakfast is fabulous with a personal touch and a great deal of thought put into it. To say my partner and I enjoyed this short break would be an understatement. Forget anywhere else in St Andrews, you will spend more money for less service. We will be back.

Could not fault the accommodation. Fantastic views in a serene location. Alan & Norma are generous hosts who can't do enough for you and provided many tips in relation to the town and attractions. Breakfast was superb with Norma's home made jams. Highly recommended.

From my moment of arrival, I was looked after by Norma and Alan. The perfect people to run a service like this. Nothing was a hassle and went well above board. The accomomdation was lovely, part of the house sectioned off for guests, consisiting of your own living / dining area, bathroom and bedroom - decor all very up to date and clean. The view is phenominal, overlooking St. Andrews. Tea and coffee was always available with a big breakfast appearing in the morning (cooked and fresh fruit!). Will be back to visit. Thank you for a lovely stay.
