Cleveden House is a fantastic place to stay in St. Andrews. Check in was easy, there is no reception area but we received an email explaining the check in details a few days before arrival. Our room was a king bed on the first landing. The room was a good size , had a cupboard for clothes , kettle , tea , coffee and a bottle of water each. The bathroom’s shower was small,but the water pressure was great and the water nice and hot. Towels were soft and fluffy , shampoo and shower gel were from a dispenser in the shower and also a hair dryer in the room. The room had 2 opening windows which was great but also had a fan if needed. The guest House is a few minutes walk away from the Old Course and close to town. Parking can be tricky, we were there the days leading up to the British Open so the Town was busy. We managed to get a free car park in Murray Lane outside the Guest House. Everything is so close we left our car there and walked everywhere. There is a Tesco a 5 minute walk away, lots of Pubs and cafes and the Cathedral was only 15mins walk away.…

We had a great time at Cleveden House. Betsy was incredibly helpful meeting us at the house late on Friday evening when we arrived (after a delayed long haul trip from South Africa) and arranged to store our 4 suitcases (75kgs) until my daughter's res room was available the following week. Betsy was always ready to assist, whether it be arranging a taxi, or suggesting a dinner spot, or sharing anecdotes about South Africa.

Fantastic stay at Cleveden house. Lucy and Betsy really took care of my family. We got three rooms for six people. Excellent location and very nice accommodations. Make to order breakfast included with the room. Highly recommend for anyone to stay.

Literally 3 minutes walk from the Old Course first tee. Charlie and Ray were fabulous hosts. Great rooms, comfy beds, hot showers and as has been mentioned, splendid breakfasts. Nothing wrong with the eggs Charlie, I'm just a fussy eater and you were right it did cost me 20 yards up the last. Charlie is a wealth of great stories and has a great, laconic sense of humour. He did us the honour of inviting us to his golf club overlooking the 18th fairway which was a real treat. If he tells you about the 4 putt he had that time, offer him comfort insofar as one of us had a 5 putt on the 1st on the Eden course to card a 7. If only the perpetrator had eaten the egg whites. We were booked for two nights at the Cleveden House in St. Andrew's. My husband and I stayed an additional two more nights. We loved everything about St. Andrew's the restaurant, the historical sites, the pubs and of course the golf! Thank you Charlie and Ray for a relaxing holiday! Plus Charlie's porridge is outstanding!

I stayed for three nights during a long weekend of golf at St. Andrews and Crail. Cleveden House is centrally located in St. Andrews. Charlie and Ray were excellent hosts. My room and en suite were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was great. Ray accommodated early breakfasts so I could make early tee times. I’d definitely return.

For our fourth visit to Charley and Ray’s fine B&B we enjoyed their hospitality again and Charley’s delicious porridge and full breakfast. We noted they have renovated the rooms with nice new showers. They are a font of information and advice on St Andrews which they are happy to share with visitors . Walk to Old Course in 5 minutes or other two - Jubilee and New - in 12 minutes or so! They have a number of returnees besides us, So reservations are needed early on.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay with Ray and Charlie. Superb friendly hosts. We were very pleased with our double room. Guest house located close to the Old Course. Excellent breakfasts. Great golfing pictures and photos throughout. Thoroughly recommendable!

Charlie & Ray are excellent hosts. Warm, gracious with a wonderful sense of humor, they made our group feel like we were staying with friends. Breakfast was a delight and the rooms are neat, clean and nicely appointed. We highly recommend this wonderful bed & breakfast.
