We are so happy that we found this place. The host, Pam, was amazing and helpful. We had a lovely room with an ocean view. The bed was comfortable. It is just outside the CBD but the walk to town is stunning along the beach walk. We highly recommend this place.

Pam and her mother Joyce were the perfect hosts. Breakfast was delicious and room was very comfortable. Pam was very helpful with information on where to go, good restaurants and even where to get things needed by my son who was starting school.

Never do business with Pam. My mom and I informed Pam at 8:36 am that we would be late for our 4:30 - 6:30 pm check in time due to a big bus tour we were on. We even made the effort to bring our suitcases on the bus so we could get off at Pitlochry and take a taxi to St. Andrews. Pam told us this time was not ideal, but she didn’t say no. When we got to Pitlochry we went into the hotel our driver recommended and had them call numerous taxi companies to take us to St. Andrews. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find anyone, so I also called four different companies, none of which could help us. With our bus leaving for Edinburgh in minutes, and worrying that we would be stuck in Pitlochry without a way to get to st. Andrews, we jumped back on our tour bus back to Edinburgh and sent Pam an email apologizing profusely. What she sent back is the email below, which completely took me aback. It was nasty and uncalled for. She told my mom not to come and that we were a no show even tho we told her that morning we weren’t going to make the check in time (and she never said no). We lost $600, which is a lot of money to us, and Pam is refusing to give it back. I strongly recommend finding somewhere else to stay in St. Andrews.

Hi Pat and Sara I suppose Sara wrote this as Pat is very visible in the internet, also guessing Sara is 70. For the avoidance of doubt to future guests here is how the lack of communication went, for a 'Media', professional it is very poor to say the least. When you booked you asked me to help with your daughters wedding plans, golf, area etc, etc, etc, her wedding at the Old Course Hotel, I am a B&B, I am of course happy to help and do so on a daily basis as 370 5 star reviews prove, I know the town and area extremely well and am more than happy to help, however, I am not a wedding planner! As a host you must know that when you hit the 'book now' button that shows that you have read and understood the T&C's, Non -refundable booking, the check in times are clearly marked, and state that they can be changes easily by arrangement, you made not arrangement with me, you were reminded of this a 8am check in day. at 13.04 you said you couldn't be here but didn't say when you would be, you assumed I could leave a key, I cannot, this is a private and my insurance would not allow such. PAT. Sorry we cannot change arrival time bc we are on a bus and then must get transportation to st Andrews. I too am a host would you Like to send us the info? Received: 04 Sep 2023, 13:04 PAM. Not sure what info you mean? However, as a host you surely can appreciate check in times. Sent: 05 Sep 2023, 03:18 (read) Pat Parker Garmezy said: PAM.Seriously, I am NOT an air B&B, This is a private house, you knew check in was 4-6pm the day you booked. You could have got a taxi from Pitlochry, don’t tell me you couldn’t, now you say you’re coming from Edinburgh, best you stay there, you are a no show, as a host you will know what that is, check the T&C’s are on your booking, On 4 Sep 2023, at 19:14, Pat Garmezy wrote: Pam I’m Sorry to say we could not get a taxi from pitlochry and are on the bus to Edinburgh and will taxi to you. Please send checkin instructions I have been a superhost with airbnb for 6 years and I am 70 years old and very trustworthy. Pat Parker Garmezy Garmezy Media 615-351-4610 Received: 05 Sep 2023, 07:35 Hi Pat I find it hard to believe that you could not get a taxi from Pitlochry, and why you would then go south 2 hours to Edinburgh to then come back north 1 1/2 hours is a mystery to me. I have been a 5 star business for over 14 years so I know it works. regards Pam Sent: 05 Sep 2023, 10:23 (read) Pat Parker Garmezy said: I did not meet you bc you cancelled my reservation for 2 nites bc I was late arriving. You have a 2 hour arrival time. 4-6 pm we did not have a car; no taxis were available out of Pithiory When traveling unforeseen circumstances come up. You told me NOT to come ! I paid $600 us dollars for 2 nites and you did not host me at all and refuse to give me a refund. I then had to find and pay again for 2 nites elsewhere. Because I missed your 2 hour window you cancelled both nights even tho I had prepaid. You already had my money. No reason to do the right thing by your customer. I am 70 years old and asked for check in instructions so you could go home bc of you taking care of your Mother. I understand that but you should also understand we are traveling in your country from United States and what looks close on the map is not always true. I believe you were having a bad day as we all do sometimes however I have now had a bad week trying to get my $600 returned bc you provided NO service. You did not even say come tomorrow. Yet I paid you!!!!! You did nothing for us as your guests. This is very distressing Booking.com is also worth less ; have spent hours on the phone with them so don’t use them either …all very upsetting. Received: 10 Sep 2023, 10:09 PAM. I cannot change any booking with B.com, as a host I'm sure you are well aware of how inflexible they are. You I'm afraid were well out with the T&C's of your booking, I'm not entirely sure what age has to do with anything, I am 62 and have run a very successful busies for now 15 years. the fact that you cannot read a map, or instructions again is not my fault. for you to go from Pitlochry to edinburgh is ridiculous, 2 hours south to then come 90mins north in a taxi at £160 arriving at around midnight! this is NOT an Air B&B, it is a private house so I do not leave keys. Presumably you have travel insurance that will cover you. regards Pam Sent: 11 Sep 2023, 11:22 (read) So, if anyone could actually be bothered reading this hopefully you will see NO12 B&B has done nothing wrong.., always check , check times and make arrangements to suit or at least stay in touch, it happens every day here and I don't have issues, as a private house I am not always here, but never far away, B.com put you as a "no show" which is a cancelation if you do not make check in, this is ALL accommodations around the world, not just me, all you have to do is let me know.easy. Just let me know is all Pam

A very clean and comfortable stay. Welcoming, friendly and helpful hostess who served excellent breakfasts with personal choices. The communal breakfast table made for interesting conversations with the small number of fellow guests.

Pam's place is absolutely the epitome of relaxation, comfort, convenience, and hospitality. After my stay last year, I booked a 2 week stay for this year. I think that is enough to tell you how great of a place this is. I am looking forward to getting back there next week to this wonderful oasis.

Water views from the room, quick walk to the center of town to see everything St Andrew’s is known for. Our host, Pam, gave great advice from parking to sightseeing musts. Delightful kitchen for breakfast, beautifully decorated with well-prepared meal. Can’t wait to come back!

We loved this place. It was on the side of town away from the golf courses, and as result our usual route to town took us along the spectacular shoreline. This roundabout route was only a bit longer than the direct line to the town centre. We had a nice room upstairs with an ocean view. The breakfasts were made by our host, Pam, and were wonderful - even the haggis. Pam also gave us some good restaurant recommendations in town and also in other places that were would be visiting later in our trip.
