Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Shower in our room was not working properly. We told the staff, did not fix it. Told we could move rooms, to repack our bags and they would move us. Came back from golf and it turns out they could not move us to a new room. So we checked out and went somewhere else. Feel like the staff lied to us.

Hotel's Favourite
Starting with the basics: the room (a double double) is new, big, very clean, very comfortable and the decor is stunning. Web site photos are spot on except the room is bigger than it looks on the web. Everyone we encountered working here is friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub and the food was good. The view of the 18th hole from the roof lounge is impressive. The location is great, and they have a parking garage. Which leads me to the standout aspect of the stay. ...On the first night we get a knock on the door. Wife answers while I am in the bathroom and says “no” to someone. I ask, what did they want. Oh, somebody with an MG has a problem in the garage. "WHAT” I say, we have an MG. In her defense our MG SUV rental was hardly the little British sports car you could get in the states in the 70s. We had just arrived from the states, no sleep on the plane, in a foreign country, finally escaping the covid lockdown, etc. I did not want to spend my first day on vacation dealing with a flat tire! But no problem, I am at Rusacks. Between the people behind the desk, the night manager, and the valets the flat was fixed by check out with literally no effort on my part other than uttering “Avis”. We stayed in 5 other higher end hotels on this trip. They all had very good service. But would this happen anywhere else, I do not know. We loved this hotel. It’s clearly the perfect place to start a Scotland tour.

This hotel is in a prime location. Staff could not have been more attentive. Suggest you get a room with the view of the 18th hole. Breakfast is very well done. Bar on roof has fabulous views. A must. Bar downstairs is the place to go after your round

A double room by the Scottish definition is a King or Queen bed, not two beds. They went out of their way to find me adequate accommodations. They also loaned me a set of golf clubs when mine didn't arrive with me.

I feel kinda guilty for not being a golfer. Here we were staying in a magnificent hotel that backs up to the legendary Old Course in St. Andrews, truly Mecca for the many who enjoy the game, and none of the four of us play. At this time, let me reassure you that you don’t need to be a golfer to enjoy the Rusacks Hotel, or St Andrews, Scotland. Both are beautiful in their own right and you won’t regret, for a moment, your stay there. The staff is friendly and competent. The room clean and well furnished. The views spectacular.

Hotel amazing and well positioned. Main issue was wet room/shower that either did not run or was low power sonsuspect water pressure issues. The one under bar was great and staff were welcoming and helpful. The food/bfast amazing over looking the 17th fairway of the old course and the infamous bridge

Gordon Jackson, the concierge made up (and then some) for a few minor hiccups with our stay. The view onto the old course from our room never got tired. We had some minor bathroom issues and it’s pretty easy for other guests to bill your room for restaurant charges, but that was rectified without issue.

You cannot beat the location of the hotel and the views! The food was lovely and we had a great meal at 18 at the end of our trip. We only stayed for two nights, and the first night, we were kept awake until 1am with chairs being dragged across the floor in the restaurant above us- it was literally like trying to sleep in a bowling alley. We mentioned it in the morning and we were assured they’d speak to the restaurant and make sure it didn’t happen again. We went up to have our meal and noticed the floor was tile and hard wood- there’s literally nothing short of carpeting that would help. If you are a light sleeper and get allocated a room on the third floor, I’d ask to switch as the noise really disrupted our enjoyment of the trip and for the money, I expect to not be disturbed by things that are preventable or remedied!
