Nestled in the heart of St. Andrews, Rusacks St Andrews hotel garners acclaim for its elegant ambiance and pristine cleanliness, with guests frequently highlighting the spotless rooms and refined decor. Despite its celebrated prime location with picturesque views, opinions on the hotel are divided. While the service and amenities receive praise, particularly the variety of dining options, there are reports of inconsistent service and underwhelming room features. Additionally, the value proposition is questioned by many guests, who feel the experience does not justify the cost.

I just returned from my golfing trip to St Andrews celebrating my 60th birthday where I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the newly re-furbished Rusack's Hotel overlooking the 18th Green of the Old Course. The hotel was brilliant, rooms very comfortable and the staff so helpful and friendly. The highlight was eating a full Scottish breakfast in the bay window overlooking the 18th fairway of the Old Course on a lovely sunny morning followed by a round on the Old Course. The bedroom had been recently renovated to a very high standard and the en-suite bathroom was top drawer.

My husband and I booked this night away last minute. On arrival the reception staff were very pleasant and welcomed us with a quick and extremely friendly checkin covering all amenities, restaurants and bars available in the hotel.
We were then escorted to our room which was outstanding. We were demonstrated all aspects of the room including how to operate the shower and aircon.
We decided to eat in for dinner which was an effortless experience very relaxed with the full menu being talk through.
We ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection as our taste. Nothing was to much trouble for the waiting staff. What made it even better was the stunning view across the old course links.
After dinner we were leaving to go for a walk, when we were asked by the night manager Ian Cameron if we had plans. Mr Cameron went out of his way recommending local pubs and telling us about the area. We are both very familiar with St Andrew’s but Mr Cameron recommended a few places we have not yet been including the hotel bar.
As we got taking Mr Cameron also gave us information on the hotels transformation and what is yet to come. This was very interesting and exciting times ahead for future visits and the hotel. Overall this is an outstanding hotel in a unique location with very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Stayed at this hotel in December, they were re carpeting the reception at the time and finished it on the day we left, stunning entrance to Hotel, although if you have a car you tend to use the golf course entrance.
Staff at reception, bar and restaurant were very good and friendly.
We could not eat at the top floor restaurant as it was closed the day we arrived and the following night we were booked into the Seafood Ristorante, will try next time, our meal at the ground floor restaurant was very good.
We did use the upstairs bar before dinner.
Rooms are beautiful and we had an open view onto the 1st and 18th hole right onto the sea.
The hotel has a covered car park, I believe that in the summer months it would be essential as parking round about the hotel is limited.
Will gladly return to this wonderful hotel.

We booked a three night stay at the Rusacks and enjoyed a perfect birthday celebration. We chose to splash out and stayed in the Tom Morris suite which overlooks the 18th hole of the Old Course. The room is gorgeous and has two separate sitting rooms to entertain friends and family. The rooms are so beautiful and comfortable. We never tired of watching the golfers and the amazing view of the West Sands beach. January can be a lottery with the weather, but we were blessed with sunshine mixed with the cold.
The service at the Rusacks is first-class.
We were greeted with a smile by Laura at the front desk and shown to our room by Andy.
We luxuriated over long breakfasts in The Bridge that had amazing views and wonderful food. Jose and his staff were great.
We enjoyed a pub meal in One Under which included a nice chat with Sean the Bartender.
The absolute best part of our stay was our magnificent birthday meal in the fine dining restaurant, 18. We had chosen the private dining room which gave our family and friends the privacy of an intimate dinner served in one of Scotland’s premier restaurants.
We splashed out and enjoyed champagne, oysters, mouth watering steaks and delicious desserts. Even our vegetarian guests were catered for with spectacular food.
The restaurant manager, Lukasz, ensured that our every need was catered for.
We are so grateful to the chefs and staff of 18 for providing us with the most memorable birthday celebration meal.
We keep returning to The Rusacks because we feel comfortable and well cared for. Scottish hospitality at its best!

We had a 3 night stay at Rusacks and was a little disappointed with our overall experience. It was quite expensive but we were prepared to treat ourselves for these 3 nights due to the location which was fantastic. I regretted not paying extra for a golf view room and upon check in asked again if there were any golf view rooms available. I was told there was not but if there was I would be informed and I was prepared to move rooms. We didn’t hear anything further. Our room was stuffy and hot and the bed was quite uncomfortable. We had to run the shower 10 minutes before showering to enable the hot water to come on. When we asked about this on our first day, we were told the pipes are old and thats how long we had to wait each time we showered. Customer service throughout the hotel was mediocre with a lot of new staff. I wasn’t aware of what the parking was like around the hotel and had originally booked parking for £35 per day but upon arrival asked for this to be taken off as we would go find a park on the street (which we did very easily). When I went to pay the bill on check out parking was added. Little touches of a 5 star hotel were missing. I’m in two minds if I would stay here again due to the high price and lack of customer service. I cannot fault the location though, it is great looking out from the rooftop bar 18, watching the golfers tee off on the 1st hole and come in on the 18th

What a beautiful building finished to a very high standard and attention to detail is immaculate on what’s finished so far, I also had supper in the restaurant and it was very good along with great kippers for breakfast. On check in the staff are very helpful and explaining how all of the equipment in the new rooms operate. My room had great views across the 1st and 18th holes it was very relaxing watching the golfers tee off.

Wow. The newly refurbished Rusacks can surely lay claim to be the best hotel in St Andrews.
No, it doesn't have a spa, but in all other areas, Rusacks outdoes the more prestigious Old Course Hotel quite considerably.
Our room, which took in views of the Old Course 18th fairway, was simply stunning.
Beautifully decorated and the most fantastic bathroom/shower.
The living areas on the ground floor were perfect, very traditional wooden panelling but everything was clean and new.
Aromas from the fire filled the whole of the ground floor which at this time of year (mid December) it stunning.
Looking forward to returning.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in the Rusacks in January. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the golf course and close to the town centre. Our room was a King double, slightly more floor space than a standard double and very well appointed with mini bar and coffee machine.
I'd describe the hotel as plush and comfortable. The lounges have large sofas and armchairs. The staff are very attentive - none more so than Isobel who showed us to our room whilst helping with our luggage and answering our questions about the town.
The food in the hotel is very good. Breakfast in particular is a feast well worth getting up for.
In terms of our overall experience the Rusacks will take a lot of beating. It may not be the cheapest hotel we've stayed in (far from it actually) but in terms of value for money it's second to none.
We'll be back!

We stayed at Rusacks for a 1 night stay on our honeymoon.
The head of conceirge assisted us with our luggage to the room and was extremely pleasant and knowledgable on the area.
We had a meal in the Bridge restaurant, the service, food, ambience and experience itself overlooking the 18th fairway and green made for a memorable meal. Breakfast the next morning in thr Bridge was also great. We enjoyed drinks in the One Under Bar which had great ambience and decor.
Overall, we both loved the general decor and remodel style of the hotel. It has a very traditional and classy feel whilst also being fresh. The lobby areas have been finished beautifully.
This accompanied by the hotels location and proximity to the Old Course, West Sands beach and the town of St Andrews, make it the perfect place to stay. Free parking is available on the road at the front of the hotel if there are spaces available. We look forward to revisiting in the future. A 5* experience.

Hello! At the 25. July I needed the room at the hotel and asked for it at the reception. Unfortunately I was wondering about denying. It was at the morning and there are plenty of free rooms. I think it is not a friendly gesture for the people from this kind of hotel. I will never again come to your hotel because this is just rudeness and disgrace.
