An overnight stay in a lovely room overlooking the sea and beach. Check in was friendly and helpful as was check out. Breakfast was slightly disappointing. I don’t like a cooked breakfast and apart from a croissant and/or toast I felt it could have been more imaginative. However we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again.
Got an Itison voucher for a 3 course meal for 2. Went tonight with my husband. Staff were lovely and service was great. Food was excellent. Views from hotel are outstanding. Hotel looks really clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend.
Staff brilliant, especially Alistair on reception and Steven in F&B. Fantastic room with beautiful sea view. Huge comfy bed, lots of extras, including bottled water, chocolates, fabulous coffee, Le Occitane shower products, absolute bliss. Lovely seating area in the room, taking in the view. Food was delicious, wine gorgeous. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Nothing too much trouble. The breakfast selection was excellent and the staff were super again. Would we re-visit? in a heartbeat!
We booked 2 nights in the "best" room they call a suite, at the roof level,3rd floor, "Young Tom". Unfortunately next to a housekeeping store with banging door. Reception was good and we recieved early entry. The lift to the top floor is small and slow, and of a morning well used by housekeeping. Our bed was made up with a blanket as requested and we had many large radiators and opening windows and an excellent sea/beach view. Free street parking if you can get it. The hotel has good bones/spaces but is old fashioned and dull. Housekeeping were good, when I forgot some clothing they and reception made a perfect job of posting it on at minimum cost. Breakfast service could be bad, our eggs served before our porridge! The "Bistro" decor is quite depressing. I would not stay again, the new "Rufflets" setting a new St Andrews standard.…
Great food! Food was absolutely amazing, services was brilliant big thanks to Tom for looking after us he was very friendly and great chat! Will definitely be back! Hotel is self is lovely rooms are massive and staff are great x
Stayed for 2 nights for my partners Birthday. The whole stay was perfect from start to finish. I had arranged a room upgrade to a Junior Suite and it was handled flawlessly. The Champagne I'd ordered for arrival was perfectly placed on ice waiting for us. Such pleasant, friendly and professional check in service on the Friday afternoon (apologies that i cant remember the gentlemans name!). The room itself was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed with an unrivalled sea view. Dinner in the Bistro on Saturday night was incredible, with the most attentive, friendly and again, professional, service from the lovely Daryl. The Bar was really enjoyable to relax in after dinner and breakfast on both mornings was really delicious. Overall, a superb experience and we now cannot imagine staying in any other Hotel on future visits to St Andrew's.…
Excellent short stay with our family in a cold winters day but the hotel was nice and warm! Yes the staff were very friendly and makes us feel at home! Daryl from the Bistro, in particular, was exceptionally service minded! Prepared the settings for our son’s 21st birthday dinner with a great style! Fantastic job Darly 😍 The food in the bistro was also great!
Hotel du Vin is an excellent hotel that overlooks St Andrews Bay and Aquarium. It is very well run and has great staff. We stayed on a winter retreat package in the Young Tom Morris suite. It was great value and the suite was terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed a little bit of luxury and indulgence. Breakfast on both mornings was outstanding, as was the service. Thank you all. Our evening meals were excellent, and we are very grateful to Tom and Daryl for making the experience such good fun and enjoyable. Lastly, our thanks go to Eve who arranged our stay, and made sure we had everything we needed. I throughly recommend this hotel for everyone that wants an establishment that puts guests first, and provides top quality service and cuisine. Thank you Herve, we really enjoyed our stay. from Shona and Kavin 7/1/23…
We stayed on the first floor in one of the front rooms. The views from the bay window are exceptional. Was lovely sitting on the sofa in the window reading. The room was very large and comfortable, as was the King bed. The walk in shower had a plumbing issue, was backing up and wouldn’t drain. The hotel was very dog friendly and even supplied a bed and bowl, with dog biscuits in the bar. The bar and service were very enjoyable, although the drinks are expensive. The bistro food was okay for the most part and was part of a package deal offer. The main mussels were very unremarkable and without flavour, the eggs Benedict with mushroom for breakfast was unpleasant and inedible, the rest of the main meal and breakfast was good. There is a 10% service charge on everything automatically applied to the bill, however the staff and service was top notch. …
Just returned from our second stay at the hotel and my 4th through business. Always had a great experience and the staff are excellent. The restaurant is a nice place to eat and the food excellent. The location is perfect for a visit to St Andrews. Plenty free parking nearby although we’ve always been off peak (Early Jan).
