Fabulous hotel and experience. Such a treat looking over the Old Course and definitely worth paying extra for that view and location closer to reception. We had a room with a lounge. Just wish there was a better system for booking that course. I saw plenty of groups playing that weren’t 4s and we learnt a day late that our partners could have got on to play in the afternoon if they had gone back over to the clubhouse. How about a text to hotel guests. We travelled nearly as far as you can in the world and they didn’t get to play on it, with only 9% of those entering the ballot being successful. They also didn’t want to present as single players. And we didn’t want to stay here for 5 days and pay £13000pp to some travel company for a guaranteed game. Lucky they enjoyed their game on the Jubilee course. Re the hotel rooms we don’t understand why beds don’t have a top sheet on them and why bathrooms don’t have power points for hairdryers. I’ve had to dry my hair sitting at silly little dressing tables or in the bed, next to a lamp, or at this hotel at the little kitchenette area and bobbing down to try and see in the mirror splashback. They must have very strict safety codes for GPOs next to basins in the UK. We had to move over to the Fairmont after 2 nights due to availability so try to book ahead as far as possible. Definable recommend staying here.

Dear Cascade15, Thank you for sharing your review of your recent experience at Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa. Excellence and service is one of our utmost priorities and ensuring all our guests leave us with the best of memories is at the very heart of what we stand for. Unfortunately, as we have no affiliation with the course itself, the only way to guarantee a tee time is to stay with us on our wonderful Suite Golf Packages, our dedicated Golf Concierge are onsite 7 days a week to help with the ballot system. As you mentioned during peak season the if you are unsuccessful in the ballot system with the Links Trust then camping at the starter hut is the last remaining chance there is. I am pleased to read that your partners did enjoy their round on the Jubilee. Due to the high risk to health and safety of having water and electricity in such close proximity it it illegal for sockets to be present in bathrooms in the United Kingdom. I will share your feedback with the wider teams, and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Sincerely, Jack- Manager on Duty

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I came to stay at The Old Course Hotel for the first time. I have wanted to stay here for many years and because we had recently retired we decided to treat ourselves. The hotel stay was fantastic from start to finish. Whilst the accommodation is wonderful it is the lovely staff that make this resort what it is: they make you feel very welcome, are very respectful, warm and friendly. They really cant do enough for you. My wife and I are very thankful. The hotel is spotless, the food is exceptional and the views from the bar and restaurants on the fourth floor are simply breath taking. Whilst I reflect on our visit I cannot fault anything. I will hope to return soon. Keep up the good work!

We went for my husbands Birthday. We had drinks in the Road-hole bar then lunch at The Swilcon Loft restaurant. The bar is lovely with panoramic views over the iconic St Andrews Golf Course and beach. The bar staff are second to none with a very extensive knowledge of whiskies and a super cocktail menu. My husband had a couple recommended by bar manager all delicious. We then had lunch in the Swilcon Loft restaurant. This has only been open about a year and again lovely decor modern and the view again amazing looking right over the Course and right next to the famous Swilcon Bridge. Restaurant manager and lovely waitress were very helpful and service was second to none. I had poached smoked Haddock with Caper crushed potatoes Cullen skink sauce and asparagus. My husband had The Goan style fish curry. For sweet I had the sticky toffee pudding and my husband had the baked Alaska. Mouth watering delicious food in an iconic location what more could you ask for five star resort for a reason.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Old Course Hotel. From the moment we arrived, from doorman, to receptionist, we were made welcome. As an iPreferred guest we were asked if we wanted a late departure on day of check out, which we couldn’t use as we had early golf. Would have been nice to be offered something else instead. Our room was spacious and very well appointed with views over the golf course. Unique touches like personalised chocolates and luxurious robes & slippers, however no extra pillows (though we could call down for them - but no hard available), and a shower within the bath which is slightly disappointing for such a hotel. Also no documentation on bar fridge contents, which is quite standard. The bed was very comfortable, great linen - we slept very well. So much so we were woken by housekeeping on our first morning loudly, so if you want to remotely sleep in, put a ‘do not disturb’ on the door! We had drinks at the local inn and ate at one of the hotel restaurants for dinner one night, and also had drinks in the piano bar - all as expected, pub drinks and enjoyable food, though service at the hotel bar was rather slow & we never received the bar snacks requested. Breakfast was served buffet style or table orders, we tried both options and found them tasty, with prompt service. Also visited the hotel spa, great massages and enjoyed the relaxing facilities. The hotel is well located to walk into town for a great outing, and affording stunning walks along the course footpaths and beach. All in all a lovely weekend, rather special all round and we will be back!

Exceptional from start to finish. Lovely welcome by staff, beautiful room. Spa was incredible. Had lunch in the Jigger Inn and dined in the main restraint in the evening. The hotel was very busy being between Christmas and new year but still flawless. Breakfast was also a tremendous experience with everything you could ask for.

Our first visit but not our last. We have stayed in many of Scotlands top hotels but this was the best. We used the spa upon check in then again in the morning. Absolutely superb. The plunge pool is a must after using the thermal pool, steam room and sauna! Lovely loungers to relax around the pool. If you stay here you must pay the spa a visit. We paid £40 each out with the complimentary hours which was worth every penny. Treatments planned for the next stay. The room was as you would expect, class. A nice touch on arrival with a birthday card for my wife. Huge bath, seating area and we had a balcony overlooking the driving range. A nice touch after returning from dinner was our room had received a tidy up and bed turned down. We ate at the Road Hole restaurant. Absolutely outstanding. Seated over looking the 18th hole was a superb start and the food didn’t let the view done. Delicious. We then headed to the bar and continued working out way through an outstanding cocktail menu. A nice touch when my wife was surprised with birthday chocolates. We decided to have breakfast in bed. I had the works with my wife choosing an omelette. Delivered on time and again, delicious. The service from check in, the spa, room service (more cocktails), restaurant and waiting staff was second to none. A walk (if you don’t play) along the course and beach is a must. If your looking for a luxury 5 star stay with superb food, drinks, comfort and a bit of R&R in the Spa then look no further. Our new favourite place.

I want to express my gratitude to the staff of the hotel for accommodating g my mother and father in law for the occasion of her 80th birthday, for an afternoon tea. It was an experience they both throughly enjoyed and they remarked upon the superb attention they received from the staff on the 4th floor. Please pass on our thanks to them all personally.
