we were greeted instantly as we walked through the door by sydney. we had a lovely time in the pub catching up with some friends. sydney was an excellent server and took our order promptly with a smile. we will be back as the service and atmosphere was amazing.
we love the dunny wow. def some good family spirit happening and baby Guinness was a 10/10 George makes a great honorary doob. Out waitress syd was phenomenal. She walked in and we collectively saw god.best food service experience of my life. Syd. I love you so much.
Good spot to visit if you are in St. Andrews. Predominately a male bar. You get what you expect and come in here for - the history and a few pints / drams for after the round. Better more "home" feeling elsewhere - but this is a must on your list.
It’s been a few years since we were here and I understand under new ownership. Great location and good service - however food is overpriced and poor quality. Breakfast they did not have all the ingredients to offer a Full Scottish Breakfast - seems the Food element of the business needs better staff 🤔
Booked this for my family for a 3 night stay after staying in June on a golf trip. Lyndsey and the whole team couldn't do more for you. Excellent breakfast, comfy bed, warm shower, great welcome. What more do you need. Great atmosphere in the bar. Highly recommended and I'll definitely be back !!
We were fortunate enough to visit the Dunvegan whilst in St Andrews playing golf. From the minute we stepped inside we were made to feel so welcome. The atmosphere, the beer and food were great but what made it special was that the staff made us feel like we were home. They took the time to talk to us, and as visitors to the town we were treated like locals. When we went in for the second night we were greeted by name and they even remembered what our drink order was. There are not enough superlatives to compliment the team. Well done Luke, Lindsay and Catherine you are a credit to the Dunvegan and you made us want to come back next time we’re in St Andrews
We stayed here after being upgraded from the Cleveden hotel. We received a warm welcome from all of the staff and was quickly shown to our room. The room was spacious and clean. The shower and bathroom was great with a powerful rain double shower. The hotel is literally around the corner from the old course so perfect location for any avid golfers. The staff were really attentive and breakfast was also nice. It was a little noisy on the evening but with the room situated above the bar, this is to be expected. Hairdryer / fan provided as well. Would definitely stay again if we were to return to st Andrew's.
Visited this hotel Many times over the years but we went for a meal last night and we were disappointed, still great service but looks run down inside and in need of a makeover, the menu now consists of burgers or macaroni cheese not a great choice. We still enjoyed it but thought it just needs some TLC barstaff still amazing tho.
Where do I start! this establishment well deserves its fantastic reputation. They really are taking the Covid 19 infection risk very seriously. At all times we felt very comfortable with their levels of hygiene. We stayed there for nine nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Food in the bar remains excellent value for money and well presented. iI you are visiting St Andrews dont wast your money anywhere else this Hotel has it all, great location, great food and great staff. What more could you want.
Full of great pictures linked to golf and famous visitors. Near the famous 18th hole of the old course. Space severely restricted by very god Covid set up. Great service, small lunch menu but food excellent
