Property's Favourite Review
This beautiful farm offered a very peaceful and tranquil Christmas for my four children, husband and I (not forgetting our little jack russell).
The lodge had everything needed to be comfortable. It was decorated with Xmas tree and lights for our stay and our host was very helpful.
The surrounding areas are beautiful. The horses on the farm were the highlight for my children. They loved them. The horses are very sociable and often would come when called by name. The goats were lovely too but abut standoffish 🤣
We visited Scotland deer centre which was a great day out. We also had a lovely carvery in Dundee. However we had the worse Indian ever at bombay Joe's in Dundee. Avoid at all costs. It was dire.
We loved being out in the middle of nowhere, it was so peaceful. Just what we needed. I didn't want to leave. We could have done 2 or even 3 weeks here. Just lovely and felt like home straight away.
Thank you for the perfect Christmas getaway. We made memories we will cherish 😍

Thanks for the wonderful review. I am delighted to hear that your Christmas stay at the lodges was so enjoyable. as a host i am always slightly nervous over the festive period as we want everything to be perfect for guests, but there is always that risk that something breaks, there is a power cut or a storm comes through. It does sound like you had a great time and have managed to makes some wonderful memories. Importantly you were able to relax. We are very lucky to live in such a wonderful part of the country and are delighted to be able to share it with guests. Hopefully we will be able to welcome you bac again one day soon. Next time I can recommend an alternative and much better Indian in St Andrews. Kind regards Stephen Melville

We recently spent 6 wonderful days at St Andrews Country Lodges and despite all that Covid-19 and all the restrictions threw at us, we still managed to have a great time, thanks mostly to the help and flexibility of the owner Stephen.
The lodge itself was absolutely spotless and equipped with every home comfort you could think of and the views from the deck are just breathtaking. We were extremely lucky with the weather so we saw some beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
We love this part of Scotland, the surrounding area is just stunning and St Andrews offers a great variety of restaurants, bars and cafes and shopping.
You do need a car if you stay here as there isn't really much in the actual village of Balmullo itself.
We will definitely return to St Andrews Country Lodges and highly recommend them to anyone looking for first class accommodation in a peaceful and beautiful location.

Thank you for your review Melanie. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your October stay. It has been a very strange year and we are so glad that we have been able to welcome guests during the CV19 outbreak, The extra measures that we have had t put in place to protect staff and guests has been worth the effort. Good weather really can make or break a holiday and it is great that you were able to appreciate some lovely sunrises and sunsets. Hopefully we can welcome yo back to one of your favourite parts f Scotland again one day soon. Kind regards Stephen

Stayed at St Andrews country lodges for 8 nights at the start of July.
Lodges are fitted out to a very high spec - large fridge freezer, dishwasher, great big cooker with double oven.
Three good size bedrooms ( one ensuite ) comfortably sleep six people, another well equipped bathroom and large sitting area complete with modern smart TV.
Breakfast bar and large dining table.
Massive decking area, again with large table and chairs looking out to Eden bay, Leuchers and St Andrews.
The lodges are well positioned on high ground which allows for stunning views in all directions, lots of tracks and trails within the vicinity and an abundance of wildlife.
St Andrews is a twenty minute drive, Cupar is less than fifteen minutes away by car - both towns well served by shops and supermarkets.
We had our dog with us as did guests in other lodges and it was great to go for long walks and explore the countryside.
Half hour drive to lovely coastal towns of Crail, Anstruther & Pitenweem ( which has a wonderful outdoor swimming pool ).
We enjoyed glorious weather which allowed us to have a few lazy days relaxing on the decking.
Balummo village has a local Spar if you run short of any essentials and is a fifteen minute walk down the track towards the main road, at the bottom of the track there is a path on the left that takes you into a wee housing estate and onto the village - it's safer to go this way than go right to the main road as there is no pavement only a verge to walk along at the side of the road.
We really enjoyed our stay and the owner came by to make sure we had settled in ok.
Would def recommend this accommodation.

Thanks for your review and for taking time to provide an insight into what is on offer to other potential guests. It is great to hear such positive feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and were able to make the most of the local area and the Easy Neuk of Fife. We do live in a very special area and are probably guilty of taking it for granted. Hopefully we can welcome you back one day soon. Kind regards Stephen

First time staying in these lodges and having read all the other reviews I had very high expectations.
I wasn’t disappointed. The Morison lodge was spotless, not just surface clean but spotless. The lodge itself is of a very high standard and the kitchen has every utensil you could possibly need. The living space was very comfortable and cosy ( and by cosy I don’t mean small). The beds in all the rooms were very comfortable and again the bed linen was spotless.
We were lucky enough to have good weather during our stay and the decking area was a lovely space to sit out and enjoy the view with a wee glass/bottle of wine.
The lodges are within easy driving distance to Cupar/Dundee/Brought Ferry and St Andrews all of which we visited during our stay.
I highly recommend staying here and will definitely by telling all friends about St Andrews Country Lodges.

Wow...that is quite a review Roxi! Thank yo for taking the time to post a review for us, it means so much to a small business like ours. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed everything about your stay and that the facilities and location were up to standard. We look forward to welcoming you, and your friends and family, back one day soon. I passed your message onto the cleaner, who also saw your comment in the visitor book. We had just had a conversation prior to your arrival about making sure cleaning standards remained very high. Her reply to your comment was " I'm buzzing. I think U needed to read that review as it has given me a massive boost x" It takes so little time to pass on a supportive message and to say thank you, but it is so worth it as it can have such a huge impact on others. Thank you. Regards Stephen

This was our first time to stay at the St Andrew's Country Lodges having previously visited the area on several occasions. The lodges are superbly sited with panoramic vistas to the southeast towards Leuchars, Guardbridge and St Andrews. Our lodge "Pitbladdo" was superbly equipped down to the last detail including some kitchen condiments. The bed rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The kitchen living room is ideal for dining and relaxing with a spacious deck area. The lodges are well spaced out preventing intrusion on ones neighbours. There is a well equipped playground in which smaller visitors can entertain themselves as well as some miniature goats in an adjacent paddock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to thank the owner Stephan for his courtesy and checking that all things were satisfactory during our stay. We definitely hope to stay there again.

Great location only 10 mins drive from St Andrews, accommodation outstanding very clean and great size especially for a family of 5. Easy check in with a 'home from home' feel so no need for us to bring anything apart from clothing and food should you choose to cook.
Views were fabulous and the nearby walks vary to suit all ages and ability.
Beaches were brilliant although we were there in October the kids with wellies and jackets still had plenty of fun.
Ideal for golfers as so close to nearby St Andrews and the courses. We visited to check out university opportunity and local amenities which did not disappoint.
Will be a return visit for sure - would highly recommend.

We stayed 5 nights in February 2022. Party of 12: youngest 10 yrs, oldest 82 yrs. So a mixed group. Kids enjoyed the playground and of course the WiFi!!! Streaming movies was no problem at all, so kids were happy.
We had 2 lodges and these are really well equipped, nicely warm with stunning views towards the country side and sea. We had real Scottish weather so we experienced, sun, rain, snow, wind, the whole lot. We never were bored.
All the beds are very comfortable and with 2 bathrooms per lodge there is enough space for everyone.
The owner Stephen is really hospitable and does everything to make you feel welcome and enjoy your holiday.
We would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Just back from a superb weekend at St Andrews Country Lodges. The lodge itself was better than we could have hoped for and was stocked with daily essentials (bedding and towels too) that we would need. The play area for the children is fantastic and our 3 especially enjoyed playing on the trampoline. We loved taking a tour of the farm with Stephen who was so friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. The kids absolutely loved feeding the lambs and goats, collecting the eggs from the chickens and getting to sit in the tractor and quad bike. AND THAT VIEW!!!! Amazing all round and a very well deserved 5 ⭐️

Great holiday from start to finish. The accommodation is pristine, very well kitted out and brilliant views over looking the Eden estuary and St Andrews.
The outside play area was a huge hit with our children (3 & 5) as were the goats and horses. Both our children have rare Chromosome disorders and as such it can be challenging taking them away on holiday, somewhere they are not familiar with. They enjoyed it so much we have booked for the October holidays and next Summer.
